Fuse holders work as expected and are a great price for what you get.

The type of Fuse choice (ANL, T, etc.) depends on system voltage and type of protection desired (e.g., overload, short circuit, etc.). Generally when installing amps, inverters, DC to DC converters, controllers, etc, the equipment manufacturer will indicate the type of fuse to be used and where to place it. So, be sure to use the fuse applicable to the specific installation. For this review, a photo is included to show the comparison between this much larger 5 inch holder and a mini ANL. I've never had to replace one of these fuses and don't currently have any plans to test the point at which it blows! There are various methods of securing these fuses and among those are Philips screw, hex and in some cases a nut. In this case we have a nut which should allow for the torque needed to secure the fuse properly compared to the Philips screw for the smaller holder. The mini ANL in the photo is in the line to a DC to DC converter for an auxiliary battery located in the the bed of a pickup and has been in place for 8 years. The fuse I use here is rated for 60 amps.I see no reason to doubt the longevity of this 5 inch 200 amp version. It is very well made and the terminals well protected with its see through cover.

I am doing multiple reviews of a variety of ANL fuses being used in a solar array. I hope these reviews will help others who are building their own systems.I have a decent sized solar setup consisting of 2,700 watts of panels. Presently I use twelve, 200 amp 6 volt golf cart batteries in three 24v banks. I’m adding in twenty, 24v LiFePO4 batteries to take over as the primary batteries, paralleling 4 groups of 5. In the spring I’ll be adding in another five solar panels, bringing my total potential produced power to 4,000 watts. The lead acid batteries will shift to the new array. This means I need a lot of good fusing for all this power.Yes, I have T fuses for the “oh crap” fuses between my battery disconnects to inverter, but I wanted to use ANL for my primary levels. I’ll be putting fuses on each battery and each battery bank, so I’m bringing in a variety of amp ratings, in various configurations. These Nilight 100 amp fuses are “yellow colored”, but are not gold plated. This is done for looks, as these would normally be used in a high-end audio system in a car environment. Something I like about this kit is that it comes with 4 copper lugs and 4 pieces of heat shrink to cover the lugs. That is a nice addition that can save you time and money. I have a ton of terminals in various sizes and shapes, primarily due to the fact that where I live it is over an hour drive to a big lumber/hardware store.I give these fuses 5 stars. These look like they will do exactly what I want. As with all fuses, you have to hope they were made correctly, as you cannot really test them. They either work or they don’t.100 amp fuses will actually be mounted leading from each of my LiFePO batteries. These will act as a “disconnect” between the battery and the battery banks and the disconnect switches. Between the disconnects and the inverter I use the T fuses.Note: I have been an Amazon customer for almost 20 years. I write all of my reviews to reflect my personal observations and opinions on a product. It matters not if I have purchased the item myself or if it was provided to me for review. My goal is to provide other potential customers as much real-world knowledge as possible to make an informed decision. In most cases I will return to my review in 6 months or less to see if I should alter my original observations. In no case will the cost of a product influence my opinions at all. In addition, I will try to include multiple images and or videos on each product, if practical.

They work, that is the important thing. They are pretty basic, but are otherwise effectively the same thing as similar items that cost 10x more and just have a fancy brand name printed on them. The plastic doesnt feel the greatest and Im not sure of its thermal capacity, but they shouldnt really get hot in my application anyways (not going in the engine bay, for instance).

I do a lot of car audio installs and, when installing a high output amp, you need to use a fuse, inline, to save your expensive equipment as well as possible fire if a short occurs.I have only recently started using the ANL type for these installs but have to say, I prefer these over the other fuse types, even breakers. This kit goes beyond the normal purchasing of fuse blocks I have seen. That is because, not only do they include heat shrink, they even include the lugs. They give you everything to make the most secure connection you can make. I go one step further and after I use my lug crimper, I'll put some solder down there as well. This is priced exceptionally low for the items included and the quality of the items seems good as well.
