Saved several hundred dollars not buying the part that needs programming as this bypasses the lock altogether. Saved even more over dealer install by watching online removal/installation videos. No torque specs for the new break off bolts, so I just screwed them in tightly. No issues so far after about 3 weeks.Edit: We sold the car about six months after install, but never had problems with this unit from install to sale.

The dealership wanted around $1k to replace the actual steering lock actuator. This bypass module saved me a ton of money, and no more worries about it locking up! If you have issues removing the break-away bolts from the old actuator... try a socket that matches the diameter of the bolt and banging it on with a hammer. The break-away bolts molded to the socket enough to back them out.

It works well. But I do not know why there is a noise (although just for 1-2 second) when I start up my car after using this component. Considering the price, I like this product anyway.

Does not look the same.But it worked perfectly fine in my 2009 nissan altima 2.5 s. Payed on sunday and it got here on wed morning.So happy my car is running again.after a week without a car .So i dont got any bad things to say about seller or about the part.Just a big thank u to this seller.And a 5 🌟

If none of the steering lock tricks worked for you, I would recommend buying this kit. It’s a bypass kit, so there’s no more actual steering being locked. No reprogramming required, just pop it in.Be careful, don’t get ripped off by the dealerships or those overprices +$400 kits. I just wish I had brought this first before towing my car.

Rather than replace the steering lock module when it fails -- which it will -- buy this device instead. It tells the car's computer that the steering wheel is locked/unlocked in order for the ignition to function. It also has a plastic housing (ignore the photo, it is for the actual steering lock) which leads me to believe it is possibly serviceable. I love that you can get it from Nissan dealerships; there are good people in this world.And it's about 1/3 the price of getting the original part; and from what I've heard, 1/6th the cost of having it replaced by dealership. If you can work a screwdriver and wrench you can replace this. There are several useful videos online to assist you in the process. Good luck!

Picture looks different from the one installed on my car. However, it fit perfectly, and worked perfectly with no programming to the FOBs required. Saved me hundreds. Been in use for several weeks. Very happy so far.
