I bought this little light 4 weeks ago and I really wanted to love it. It’s super compact, it carry’s well in the pocket (for me), and it’s VERY BRIGHT for such a compact size. But… it was accidentally activated in my pocket today and it melted a hole clean through the pocket in my work pants. Pretty sure the lock was on, but I could have forgotten. Regardless, the light getting hot enough to burn through my pants and the flashlight housing getting hot enough burn skin just isn’t safe. I mean, I get it has a lock for reason, but the mechanism doesn’t feel super positive engagement, locking or unlocking. I work in maintenance and bending, stooping, squeezing, crawling are just work realities. I can’t (don’t want to) to take a chance that my pocket flashlight could burn me, if accidentally turned on.

I love this flashlight. It has several levels of brightness, a strobe mode, a guage showing your charge level. A slide lock to prevent accidently leaving it on. I just feels good in your hand and because it is flat it fits in tight places. I bought some new shoes/slippers. They were killing me, looked inside saw and felt nothing. Stuck the flashlight in there with my cell phone and found the issue. No room with a regular flashlight. It has a nice belt clip. I use this flashlight all of the time because it is so compact. It is just so much better than any of other 10 flashlights I own and it is rechargable. You will absolutely love this flashlight.

This light gives a wide range of brightness and crazy to say even the low setting is enough light for most situations and the brightes setting is pretty amazing considering this is a pocket size edc.good battery life. Came in very handy in the recent power outage. It will take a little getting used to the side lock button but once familiar it will be fine.

I have never used any nitecore products until recently since their products started appearing on my feed. I bought this flashlight as my EDC and I was not disappointed in the quality, fit and finish of the flashlight. The build is of excellent quality and it does not feel cheap like others I have used. The flashlight is easy to use. It's bright on the highest setting of 2500 lumens with a good throw and it is also very useful on the lowest setting when brightness isn't required. The buttons on the top of the flashlight function and seem like they will last a long time even if they go through some beating and rough usage. I work as an armed transit driver and this is perfect for me in all aspects. The screen is a nice touch because I am able to see what setting I am in and how much battery I have left. I love that this is a USB C type charging device. I think what really sold me on it was the fact that it has a safety switch. I have used other flashlights that tend to turn on in the pocket and burn my thighs. Since owning this product, I have not had it once turn on accidentally in my pockets. The clip on it doesn't feel cheap either. Overall the flashlight is of good quality and materials, and the functionality make is easy to use even for the novice user diving into the world of EDC flashlights.

The size and shape make this a perfect EDC EveryDay Carry. Once you get it set up and get used to the functions, very handy. Having an actual digital display is fantastic. The only thing I would change is to be able to reverse the clip for attaching to a hat bill or what ever.

The Nitecore EDC23 has far exceeded my expectations of a regular carry flashlight. The size (4"Length x 1.3width x .89" height) is perfect for carrying, and is about the size of an average pocket knife. Not heavy either, at just under 4oz.It features a strobe option, as well as 4 brightness settings, (turbo being the brightest at 2500 lumens for a temporary 5-7 seconds before brightness then drops to 1200)I especially appreciate the lockout feature! Mechanically lock the device by moving the switch on the side to stop unwanted power activation when it's in your pocket. This is an excellent every day carry light and was well worth the money.The only gripe about it is the complaint seen throughout other reviews - the pocket clip. It is long, very stiff, and mounts about 3/4 down the flashlight - meaning the other 1/4 length of the light is sticking out, and is an annoyance if you center carry along your pant-line/ belt loops. This would be a perfect 5 stars if they redesigned the pocket clip to mount at the top of the unit, less stiff (able to use 1 hand to affix to pocket/belt) and it wasn't so long.

The UI takes a minute to get used to, but once you do it makes sense. Super easy and incredibly bright little light! It does get warm while using it and the poker clip is complete garbage! I’m a knife guy and just used a pocket clip from one of my knives and it fit great. I would recommend this flashlight for sure!

It's actually probably smaller then my everyday carry jack knife. And about as light. Perfect side companion to my Leatherman. That and I trust nitecore. I've had really good luck with them.
