Handlebars are bigger now at 35mm, this fits them and my nite rider light work great. Can fit next to bike stem and center the light.

Honestly I had my doubts, when I upgraded from the old 25.4mm to 31.8mm I was a little disappointed that Niterider didn't upgrade the old mounts. Putting those old mounts on the 31.8mm bars took some effort. I look at the the photos of the new mount and it looked identical to the old mounts I own. But I'm please to report that this mount has been redesigned and will easily fit the new 35mm diameter handlebars. Thanks Niteride!! If you have the new size don't hesitate to get the #1050 mount for your pro lights, it will work great!

I wished they would stop changing their designs on mounting systems. The unit works ok, it fits my older halogen lighting system fine, but my newer led light does not quite snap all the way in securely. Every now and then it pops off when I hip a big bump. I had to fix the issue by attaching a strong elastic loop on it to keep it from popping off. The second issue is that it barley fits on modern day oversized bar diameter, which is becoming the standard size. I would give it five stars if it was for an older halogen system on a smaller sized diameter bar. It is a huge step up from the elastic mounts that came with my NiteRider, two of which that tore apart and broke.

This is exactly what I needed for my old school classic dual beam. The original mount was too small for the bars I currently have. The mount fit the large diameter bar on my Rize, it was easily installed and adjusted. The light fits securely. It's a well thought out product.

I've used a Niterider Trail Rat light for several years for commuting purposes. I wanted to use the light for mountain biking this winter, but due to the larger diameter of the handle bar on my mountain bike plus the fact the bar has a slight v bend across its length compared to my road bike which has a handle bar that is straight across its length, there was no way to mount the light not to mention even if I had been able to mount the light, it would have been pointing a little to the right or left instead of where I'm going (due to the handle bar v bend). This universal mount worked just as I hoped it would in attaching the light to the handle bar, and it swivels left and right to adjust for the slight v shape of many mountain bike bars. It secures in position easily and does the job. Nothing negative to mention.

This product has gotten some bad reviews by people that didn't do their homework before purchasing. This is for the older style Niterider lights, not the current ones. Know this and you will be able to make an informed purchase. I have the older version and it works wonderfully.
