These things are expensive, and good luck finding it cheaper. They are pretty easy to set up, and they serve a function of networking all your devices, so when you update your gps, all networked devices update.

Works as it should. My gps broke in my bow unit so i purchased this and a tee connector to allow it to use the gps signal from the console unit.

This kit has been working well for three weeks now. Ease of installation is dependent on the boat on which it is being installed. The components fit perfectly with other brands of NMEA 2k components.

The only thing buyers should be aware of is that this kit creates a network and allows one device to be connected. Connecting a second device requires another T connector and possibly more cable.

Very easy and straightforward install. As others have mentioned, You will need another T and cable to link two devices. For instance this was a brand new install for me. I just installed a Garmin Echoplus 93SV and Fusion black box marine radio. To be able to view the radio on the fish finder, you need those extra parts. This isn’t really a “starter” kit because you don’t really have a network with only one device. Make sense? So order those extra parts to make sure you have everything. Most radios come with an extra NMEA cable and some also come with another T. These parts are quality and still significantly cheaper than the Garmin branded kit that is also missing those parts. Highly recommend

Since I own a Simrad, and Navico owns them and Lowrance, I bought this kit. It works well. I love having an open high speed CAN network on my boat.N2K (nmea) does not indicate a key position for the connectors. So each of the MFRs picked a different key position to require you to buy all of their brand only. Garmin "t"s will connect but then you can't mount your backbone. None of the N2K MFRs tell you this up front.
