the dog comes in at the very bottom of the size range for the jacket. it would probably fit better if your dog is in the middle or upper end of the size range, so if you are in doubt, size doen.it is easy on and easy off. It would be good for a pool or pond, I would not use it for a large body of water or river. It would also be nice for a hot day, because there's is less coverage. The color is a camouflage color for nature adventures, so not great for visibility or rescue. It has one reflector strip on the back, which is obscured by black mesh and the handle. It doesn't have a strap connecting under the body to the chest piece. The handle is nice, but because of the fit under the body, when you lift up the dog they are tipped forward toward their face and it's unwieldy. It has a couple of light duty fabric loops and one plastic D ring on the back for a tie.

This dog life vest is an absolute game-changer for our 85-pound German Shepherd, and I can’t recommend it highly enough! We purchased the XL size, and it fits her like a glove, providing the perfect balance of comfort and security for all her water-based activities. The adjustable straps made it easy to get a snug, secure fit, even in choppy water or crowded boating areas. The addition of a sturdy handle on the back was a fantastic touch, allowing us to easily lift her onto the boat or guide her back to shore when needed.Comfort is clearly a priority with this design. Our dog took to it immediately, with no signs of irritation or discomfort, even after hours of wear. The breathable material kept her cool, and the vest didn’t chafe or rub, which was a concern I had with other products. It’s also easy to clean, which is a huge plus after muddy lake adventures.This life vest has truly enhanced our outdoor experiences, making water activities safer and more enjoyable for our furry friend. It’s the perfect blend of functionality, durability, and comfort, tailored for active dogs like our German Shepherd. If you have a water-loving pup, this vest is an absolute must-have. I am very happy with this dog life jacket and feel that it really is a life saver. The jacket is very well made:- strong, water proof material- tight seams- multiple buoyancy packs to keep body and head high / above water- wide, comfortable and strong belly strap- velcro and buckle closures for extra security (there are four velcro straps on either side of the jacket, that are set at 90 degrees from each other, meaning the connections criss-cross, and once made are very secure).- wide, padded and cinch-able collar for tight and comfortable fit- strong lifting handle- reflective band along back for extra visibility- D-ring for attaching to a leash- cut high so as not to impede your dog's natural movements- and fashionable!all things that give me peace of mind for allowing my senior dog to spend time on a boat, dock or near the ocean.My pup hates water - so my hope is we never have to test out the life jacket. The manufacturer, NOAH & PAW Store, says there are no standards for pet life jackets, but they have made their jackets to meet people standards, and it really shows. Everything about this jacket screams safety, which gives me great peace of mind.The jacket was very easy to put on, and my dog seemed to be very comfortable in it. It fits securely, in the same way as a full body harness or rain jacket does. The straps are wide and padded and can be secured tightly to avoid chaffing.Unlike other pet wear manufacturers, Noah and Paw designs for all sizes of dogs. My dog is a big boy - about 90 lbs - and I ordered the XL. I had to cinch the belly strap all the way up, and probably could have been fine with the Large size.If your dog loves to play in the water and you are worried abut him tiring himself out, if you take your pup in your boat / kayak, etc., and are worried about him getting swept over (or jumping in to inhospitable waters), or just want an extra level of security around the beach, this is a great jacket to have.
