This is a well designed dog bed and it is very well constructed of quality materials. We have a "velcro" dog that likes to lay on a rug next to me when I am working at my desk. He is a medium-sized dog, and only a few years old, but the breed seems prone to spine and joint issues. He has a large orthopedic bed in another room, but it takes up quite a bit of space, and I am not really up to moving it around, anyway. Even with the rug, I'm concerned about him spending too much time on the hard floor. I haven't found a pillow he will lay on and most of the mats I have tried are thin and don't really offer much support.So, I wanted to get a second bed for him that was compact enough in size to make it easy for me to put it down for him when needed but lift it up and out of the way when it is not. This bed has a handle along the side so it is just as easy to carry as a suitcase (and it is about the same size as an old-fashioned one, too. But nowhere near as heavy). When I saw this bed and the product description mentioned that it was an orthopedic style, it sounded like the perfect solution and I ordered it right away.I just finished setting it up a few minutes ago, and I set it aside to expand to full size, but our pup has already claimed it as his own, and he is comfortably lying on it right now with his head on the bolster. I received the medium-sized bed and I worried it might be a little too small. But, there is plenty of room for him to snooze comfortably. The cushion is very thick and supportive but not too hard. He weighs close to forty pounds and barely makes a dent in the bed. The dark grey velvety cover is smooth and feels soft.The bottom of the outer cover has grips to keep the bed from moving if used on a bare floor. The sides are a thick faux leather that looks very nice and feels smooth and durable. It just takes a minute to unzip the outer cover, add the insert and the bolster (which is in a separate zippered pocket) and then zip it all back up. At first I thought that the main zipper was just at one end, and I was trying to stuff the insert into the cover much like a pillow in a pillowcase. Which wasn't that easy. Luckily, I finally noticed that the zipper actually wraps around the sides so it really is very easy to add the insert. The bed looks great!The top of the cover can be brushed, vacuumed or spot-cleaned, and the sides can be wiped off. The bottom can be vacuumed. When the cover gets dirty, it can be removed and washed. The same is true of the silky feeling, lighter weight inner lining. All three of the zippers are sturdy and operate smoothly.I'm quite impressed with this dog bed, especially for the very reasonable price. It arrived nicely boxed and the insert was vacuum packed. There was a nice card showing how to unbox and set up the bed, but it actually pictures a different style of bed. I don't think instructions are really needed anyway although do keep in mind that there is a separate zippered compartment for the bolster that can easily be overlooked.

This is a high quality pet bed at an affordable price. It's big enough for my 70lb pit bull to fit comfortably. It's really thick and seems to provide a lot of support. My pups are getting older and I wanted them to have something that was more supportive than the traditional stuffed beds. It was really easy to put together and the 'pillow' part is a nice addition. I haven't washed it yet but hoping it will hold up well. All of the covers are removeable so it should be pretty easy to wash and then put back together. As soon as I put it together, my dog instantly laid down and fell asleep. Safe to say this one is a win!

Get ready to get your dog a bed that rivals your own - this thing could host a kid's slumber party in luxury. Seeing my 90lbs (ish) dog laying on I'm in awe - he looks like he needs a friend or two to come take up some of the space. The color is beautiful and is just oozes quality. It doesn't take away from a space like a lot of dog beds do. With that said, consider the measurements carefully. It takes a particular space to fit this thing. The cover is indeed WATERPROOF. My dog had to be sedated and accidentally had an accident right after getting this (I was truly horrified), but the cover came off and washed well without any sign of leakage on the bed itself. With that said, washing the cover is a pain. You are supposed to let it air dry, but thsi thing holds onto a TON of water. I didn't notice any damage after putting it in the dryer for just 20 minutes on low, but I had to after several days of it not drying out. After that, it was fine. This bed is very supportive and comfortable (when I tested it lol). My dog also immediately took to it when I busted it out of the physics defying packaging it was vacuumed in, with it immediately expanding out to its full size for him to lounge on. It really popped to size in no time at all. If you are looking at investing on a NICE dog bed that won't become a sad dirty pillow after a few months, this is a great way to spoil a dog (or two, or three, or a few dozen small ones).

This thing is huge! I love it and so do the dogs! I have 2 BIG dogs, rotties, and I always want to see to their comfort. My big guy is my service dog, he works hard taking care of me and deserves to be pampered for all he does for me! He refuses to get more than a couple of feet away from me, he's usually my footstool. He sleeps on the floor smack against my bed... So at least with this on the floor he can be comfortable now! He doesn't get up on any of the furniture, he get's up on his big grooming stand, into the vehicles...but he refuses to get up on furniture. I even got him his own toddler bed, he wouldn't use it! So I suppose you could say he's a well grounded dog LOL!The box this comes in is surprisingly heavy. This is a solid well made BIG cushioned dog bed. When you open it give it time to expand before allowing the dogs to use it, like 1-3 days. I'm not usually one that goes for faux leather, but it's not on where they'll lay on it. The top is a nice soft short faux fur and I like the dark green as it blends well. And honestly, I think this thing weighs more than the 12.3 Lbs stated in the listing. That speaks to the type/quality of the foam padding in it I think. This bed is so nice that kids could sleep on it!It's hard too find quality products for BIG dogs, this is one of them!
