I have two passions that dovetail well: Jeeping and car audio. I build up my ride in different ways, both for offroad performance but also audio performance. Jeepers were early adopters of AGM, for offroad/winching performance as well as safety (and the ability to keep working) during and after a potential rollover. Car audio enthusiasts embraced them as well as they better supported large bass hits because of the Ah capacity of AGMs and their faster chemistry. Lithiums are the next iteration, but not something Jeepers have adopted due to normally having to run banks outside of the engine bay; it's something that is more likely to break free and cause a large problem. So I've held back on fully switching over from AGM and instead having a removable bank. When I saw this was available, a drop-in replacement for a battery in the engine bay but in LiFePO4 chemistry I HAD to have it.It took a while to arrive, but arrive it did, in a very thick cardboard box and well packaged. It comes with a "manual" (it has only safety warnings, you have to look online for info) and a pack with multiple types of connectors for the battery terminals. The battery itself is small and very lightweight, easy to lift by the attached and robust handle. The terminals are covered by rubber caps that REALLY stay in, so pretty trustworthy under the hood. There are two exposed terminals (covered by those caps), but the caps that hold the handle down expose another set of terminals. This is excellent as I have several cables with thick lugs that attach at the battery and I thought I was going to need some battery terminal distribution blocks to put on the terminals. Not at all, there was plenty of attachment space.Once everything was attached I keyed the ignition; the Jeep fired right up, and that starter did move a little faster than with the AGM. Once on, my voltage stayed rock-steady at 13.7 V (which is all my alternator is putting out right now). I took it for a test spin with my system, which is currently around 4kW, 3.2kW of which are driving subwoofers. My subs played louder than before, and each big bass hit barely touched the voltage, with dips no lower than 13.5 nearly the whole time. The power is just there, the much quicker-discharging lithium chemistry keeping up with the sub amps' demands.Their is a BMS in this battery helping to govern and protect it. I imagine it prevents charging until the battery warms (I hope, as that helps improve battery life), and it states it protects against overdischarging and thermal runaway. LiFePO4 chemistry is one of the safer lithium chemistries, in most cases venting rather than exploding, so I'm happier with that under my hood. The real power in this lithium bank is that you can install it under the hood. It's a direct replacement. I was concerned about the temperatures of the engine bay causing problems and reached out to Noco support to confirm it. They said it's designed to be installed under the hood. You can secure the battery down just like a normal one (in most cases, I can't promise it's a direct fit in your vehicle), using your factory hardware, so it's not like having a bank bolted down in your trunk or floating around inside the cab. You don't have to build a dummy box to fit in your engine bay (which is how most car-audio enthusiasts do when switching wholly over to lithium). You just drop this in.My only, I won't say "complaint", but on the wish list would be a bluetooth connection and app to see what the battery is doing. I like knowing what my lithiums are doing; I have a DIY bank with a bluetooth-equipped BMS and it's really cool, including that I can tinker with different aspects, but I get that this is meant to be a don't-have-to-think-about-it lithium solution. Still, it would be nice to be able to at least see the voltage in real-time and track when it's protecting or any errors.Overall I'm just thrilled with this battery. It works amazingly well as a starter battery, and it holds my voltage steady against all but the heaviest I could throw at it, and it barely dipped. It's not cheap, at all, and you could build a bank with more power for less. But I haven't seen ANY OTHER LITHIUM BANK that's a direct replacement for a battery under the hood. It's also from a brand of battery chargers that I highly respect and already own one of their products. With this battery my amps can finally work at full capacity and the results in my bass output alone are insane. There's really no way you can go wrong with this battery bank.**Note: I do not accept any responsibility or liability for damage occurred to persons or property from use of this product. Before purchase I recommend speaking to Noco customer support directly to confirm it will work in your setup. If also take no responsibility if my review encouraged you to use the battery outside of it's intended parameters and cause damage to yourself or property.I really don't think anything wrong will happen, but please use common sense as well as customer service to be sure this will work for you.

I put this NOCO NLX24 lithium battery in my 2005 Honda Pilot which had a Group 24 Lead-Acid battery in it. I like running accessories like LED lights, inverter, and other things even while the engine is off, and lead-acid batteries don’t have the amp hours that this lithium battery does. The NOCO NLX24 comes with multiple attachment points and accessories to fit all kinds of applications.I opted for the post attachment since I am using this for my main starting battery for the Honda Pilot. I didn’t charge the battery upon receipt as #1, I don’t have a lithium capable battery charger, and two, with how new this battery is, and being lithium, it should have a good charge from the factory.I have been using this battery for 3 days now and the starting power is audibly noticeable from the speed of the starter spinning the engine over. It’s very impressive and no doubt is delivering a massive amount of starting amps. The perk of lithium is that they continue to delivery the same power throughout its battery capacity. The weight is also about half that of a lead-acid battery, and the included carrying handle you can move around is a great feature.Value for money, this battery is very expensive, no doubt, and I wouldn’t recommend this to the average consumer. It features a 5 year warranty, but I hope this battery lasts a lot longer than that for the price for what I’m using it for. I’m hoping for 7+ years, which if you compare that to the costs of lead-acid, I think it would be about 1.5.2 or so times the investment of lead-acid if it does last that long, but hopefully this battery will be trouble-free for that time frame where a lead-acid will likely die on you in that time frame and leave you stranded.Overall a high quality product at a high price, but hopefully worth it in the long run!

I have used Trojan 6 volt golf cart batteries wired in series in my boat and motor home as "house" batteries for many years. The lead acid batteries are extremely heavy, bulky, and require maintenance of the water level several times each season. The batteries are also getting more expensive every year. I have been looking at various different replacements and was offered a chance to use this NOCO Lithium dual purpose battery. Needing to replace existing batteries, this opportunity came at the perfect time.So far my experience has been good in multiple ways. The NOCO battery takes far less room, weighs a fraction of what two 6 volt batteries weigh, is maintenance free, requires less wiring, recharges much faster, can handle many more cycles, has multiple connection options, and can be used for both deep cycle as well as starting functions. Having one battery rather than two also make the system less complicated and safer. The single NOCO battery does not have the same amp hours as two Trojan 6 volts batteries, but for my needs, the quick recharge time basically cancels out this issue. The cost of this single battery is similar to two 6 volt Trojan batteries, so I don't feel like the price is an issue, especially when you compare longevity of lead acid to Lithium, I believe I am coming out way ahead of the game.
