This item ended up being too long so I wanted to return it it to Amazon but it was a third company so I had to pay the shipping cost. I have Amazon prime membership but I still had to pay the shipping cost which cost me sixty five dollars.

I used this grate in a fire pit for 2 years. Over time it just collapsed so that the legs were splayed out and no lift off the ground. Ultimately was not usable as no ability to get air beneath the grate. Only suitable for small fires.

I am a fan of this grate for a couple of reasons. 1) It's holding up very well after quite a few very hot fires. 2) It's every bit as big as the measurements said. Our fireplace is 36" wide at the back and gets a couple inches wider as it comes to the front. This grate JUST fits all the way to the back.I do think the legs should be about 1/2" to 1" shorter but that would be my only criticism.

This fireplace grate is strong,sturdy and durable.Our old o e cracked and broke and fell apart from use AFE and time. This grate is “industrial” strength and very well made. We chose the 36 inch model based upon hearth size and it fits quite well. It is solid steel and weighs over 35 pounds!

We purchased this for our oversized fireplace and so far it's worked very well. We chose this specific product since it had the center leg supports - many reviews of similarly sized grates with no center supports mentioned sagging over time. We have not used it enough to get to a point where sagging would be a concern but based on the sturdy feel of the item I have no worries for long-term use.

Fantastic grate.. love the size and height.. sturdy and looks amazing in my fireplace.. some complain about the height but I think it looks great and I can see my entire fire better than it sitting low.

Have a 3 2/3 foot fire place. This grate works perfectly in. Furnace died during a cold snap, and I was stoking wood onto the grate as fast as it could burn. Solidly built, excellent quality. Love the square design, have a square designed fireplace.
