Bluebirds absolutely love this so if you're looking to attract those little guys, this is what you need! Buy it in the big bags; I guarantee you'll go through it!

Package I received was carefully handled and packed, almost all whole bugs in the bag. They stink, and they make the chickens breath stink like bugs. But my 10wk old Lavender Orpingtons absolutely LOVE these. I give them a capful in the evening as a treat, and they all crowd to get some. The only thing they like better is fat trimmings from cooked ham. BACON!

My chickens love these things and wait for me at the gate when they see me getting a cup of them. The 11lbs fills a 5gal bucket exactly. So a lowes bucket with lid is perfect. My only complaint is the bag they are sipped in may have small holes. Since I wasn’t home at delivery, it sat on my porch and attracted ants. Had to clean them off the box and bag inside.

We reward our ducks with "bug time" when they return to their pen at dusk. We have a routine. They wait for me by the door of the pen, and then we go through the door together. They immediately gather around the wading pool, while I pull out their bugs. Then I toss bugs into the water (which float), while they busily scoop them up. They obviously have a lot of fun doing this. Mix anything with water, and ducks automatically become 10X more enthusiastic. :-DThe quality of the BSF larvae is great, and I like buying American/Canadian. I trust domestic products to be better/safer for our little friends, and I like to keep our $$$ at home.

I would say be careful when feeding this product out as I found this hard piece of plastic in my newest bag. This likely won't deter me from buying again, although I think $65 on sale for treats for my birds is outrageous . However, all chicken fed and treat prices are now. And this bulk deal does save some time of needing to order smaller bags more frequently. Or the hassle of raising mealworms. Also my chickens and Guinea fowl love these and come running again when called because they get these fly larvae treats. I also feel more comfortable feeding a US raised and packaged product.

These are BOONWORMS not Mealworms, don’t be confused... my chickens love these, they are higher in calcium than mealworms but are slightly lower in protein... this bag is MASSIVE and about 3 times the size as the bag I can get at a local farmers store and about the same price... the bag filled two 5 gallon buckets... As you can see my cousin was just as shocked by the size of the bag!!There is a smell with boonworms, it’s not a bad smell at all, but different than mealworms...I was beyond happy with the packaging, price, quantity, and speed of shipping! The product seemed fresh and my flock ate their handfuls just as quickly as they did with the brand from the farmer store that I am used to...WILL DEFINITELY BUY AGAIN, VERY VERY HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT AND THE MANUFACTURER!!!A+++++++++

My chickens love them. The chickens (I have around 175 Free Range, Farm chickens) come running and follow me around when they think I'm anywhere near the "worm container". These are great treat for "the fun of it" and I believe they also add nutrition in this cold time of year when there are little to no "live bugs/worms" out there for the chickens to eat. I plan to put some of these in my bird feeder soon, too. I bet the wild birds would love them. I only wish these were cheaper and I could buy them in "bulk" -- like maybe 50# bags full of them!! These were a bit big for my baby chicks, but "smashing" them up a bit in my hands before feeding, helped. Now my babies are grown enough that they eat them as is. I plan to buy more as soon as I can afford it.
