This dramatically reduces the amount of time I have to spend removing my 4 jaw chuck when production turning bowls. I don't like to turn all of the outsides of bowls when doing 6-7 of them at a time, so there previously was no choice but to change the chuck between each bowl. Now I can simply take the bowl off, take off the ring, and hollow the bowl immediately. Very sturdy and holds the bowl securely.

I just received the Nova 6000 Face plate. I have not had a chance to use it yet. However, it is what I have been looking for at a reasonable price. I will be using it a lot in the coming months.

This is a solid metal ring that you screw onto your work piece, then attach to your jaw chuck. The perfectly machines metal ring gives you a stable attachment to both the chuck and the work piece.

If you have a Nova chuck with 50mm jaws, this is for you. Mount it on a disc of MDF and you can have an instant disc sander without removing the chuck from your lathe. It has several other uses as well.

This looks like it'll work, but I explicitly bought this one cause it had 5 screw holes for work holding.As other comments say, there were no instructions and the part doesn't match the pics.

This will work great when attaching to a piece of wood. I will be able to attach it to my Nova 2 chuck.

Very well machined and hefty, like all Nova products. The picture is incorrect. The 6000 ring has 4 holes. This is a picture of the larger ring with 5 mounting holes. I called Teknatool to clear this up but they seemed to be confused. I was told that the 6000 ring has 5 holes but I did not believe them because the person I spoke to did not even know what a faceplate was. I had to explain its’ function to him and he sounded confused. It is not his fault that he has not been given proper training. The part itself is excellent. It fits the 50mm jaw perfectly. I will continue to purchase Nova products.
