The art of hand-blown glass or vidrio soplado has diversified throughout the world, yet it is in the state of Jalisco, Mexico, where allegedly more pieces are crafted by talented artisans with techniques passed down from generation to generation. Blown glass art is said to have originated in present-day Syria during the Roman Empire, which is how it arrived in Italy, where blown glass art developed various styles. At first, the focus was on color and design, then came the introduction of new techniques that resulted in greater transparency and thus fragility, which were highly admired. Thus clear glass items became more valued over tinted glass. Blown glass techniques made it possible for a greater number of products to be crafted.

About our Artist: 'This type of work is a beautiful craft. I love blown glass because of the pure imagination poured into every piece created," confides Efren. Working as a team, Javier specializes in the design of the pieces, and Efren transforms the designs into a reality. 'Efren and I make a great team. First time I ordered it was in 2020, now in 2023 .. first time they were smashing quality and very cute. This time the quilt has changed.. The black lines are all over the place instead of swirled around the glass.. the thickness of the glass and black lines very glad to glass. Some glasses are taker or thicker than others. And two glasses are smooth instead of being able to feel the black lines on the glasses. Idk why.

The glasses sadly look nothing like the photos. They basically looked like cloudy, cheap glasses with some hershey's syrup left behind.

The glasses are absolutely beautiful. We like that the glasses are sturdier and heavier in weight than all other glasses in our home. The rounded rim of the glasses is another bonus. I highly recommend these glasses.

Love them! They look pretty and artsy, and feel very solid. They narrow at the bottom so not too big or heavy for my hand.

I really like these glasses. Each design is unique and has a special feel to it. They’re heavy and sturdy. I plan on buying more. The only negative thing I have to say is that one of the bottoms had a little point but it wasn’t so long that I could snag the linen tablecloths I use. The only other issue I have ( and it’s not with these glasses) is that they don’t have a complementary 8 ounce juice cup.

I absolutely love these glasses, I love how each of them is a little different in there own way. Having something that was handmade means a lot. Just them taking the time to make them. Also they are thick and durable much better than what you could buy at the store 🥰

The glasses are quite beautiful. The texture on two of the glasses was a bit different then the other four. Though I really enjoyed the texture on the two glasses the other 4 fell flat compared. If they had all have the same texture i wouldn't have any issue as both are beautifully made.
