I'm a classical violinist and made my living at it for years. The NS Design WAV 5 is so easily adjusted, has a scale length matching a good classical violin (33cm), is a bit heavy but with it's shoulder rest design you don't feel the weight at all (and it's lighter than my other electric violin by far), and it plays and sounds immense.Unplugged, after lowering the action some (it was pretty high to start, but easily adjusted with a screwdriver similarly to a Les Paul electric guitar 2 point bridge design), I was able to rip through the Mendelssohn violin concerto in E minor without much trouble. It takes a little getting used to with the low C string, but for the most part you can forget about it.For classical I plugged into my Zoom A2 on the A1 setting wiht some subtle reverb and it sounded wonderful. For rock I plugged into my Line6 Helix and created a patch that gives me a multitude of pitch and time based effects plus compression and a Freeze/Hold effect I created myself... and this is MILES better than my previous electric violin. If you're willing to adapt to this being a different instrument from your main violin, it becomes natural to play VERY fast and you forget it's so unique looking. And the shoulder rest so far I found extremely easy to setup - wasn't hard like others have claimed.... and so far stays put just fine.Strings on it are marginallly ok - they're getting the job done for now, but not what I normally would use.

I waited until Xmas day to open my supposedly 5 string violin only to find a 4 string violin. a complete waste of time and energy and it cost £66 to send back to Italy. Really pissed off!
