is is a very high quality microphone - designed for the professional - and with a number of unique features making it highly convenient and accurate with speech recognition software and particularly well suited for use with Dragon NaturallySpeaking. The PowerMic II microphone offers simplified single-handed, thumb-control operation for dictating, navigating, reviewing, and editing speech recognition generated documentation. This microphone integrates partially with Dragon NaturallySpeaking Medical 9.5 and beyond and, in fact, if Dragon is set-up with this as the planned microphone the program provides a separate menu of "hot keys" specifically related to this microphone (see below). Integration with NaturallySpeaking 10 Medical is particularly rich and allows use of microphone button to accomplish a series of functions listed in detail below. Features: * Hand-held * High accuracy * Reasonably good noise cancellation * Programmable buttons * Excellent ergonomics * Designed for integrated use with Dragon NaturallySpeaking * USB interface with PC * No need for drivers

The Power Mic II is an excellent companion to Dragon Medical. I have found it very functional when used with a Microsoft Surface Pro 4 and Dragon Medical Practice edition 2 for managing clinical workflow in Athena EMR. It shines when the buttons are repurposed to bring up the dictation window with full text control to complete narrative and then using a different button to "transfer text" into any field. Great for completing narratives and for replying to patient cases and generating instructions to follow up on test results. As one of the reviewers stated, the cord could stand to be shorter for some applications. I have found that a good way to shorten the cord is to fold the middle portion a few times and use Velcro straps at each end to tie things up.

Using with Dragon Medical. It certainly does a good job as a mic. The hot keys are a plus and make it much more functional. All that said I cannot say it is a good value. The mic is VERY expensive in my opinion as a physician just out residency.

I bought this to go with Dragon Dictate Medical for Mac. Definitely the best microphone for this program. Far exceeds others I have tried including Blue Yeti and the RevoLabs xTag wireless for accuracy recognition with the program. Had to use USB Overdrive to get it to work with Mac which is a great shareware program. Now if Nuance could just get with the program and make a mac version work like the pc version and upgrade to be compatible with Yosemite we would really have something.

Works fabulously with Dragon medically speaking, I'm using the network edition (not version 10, but works perfectly anyway!) I didn't even need to use the enclosed CD, it was basically plug and play with my computer which already had Dragon installed on it. It found the drivers and installed itself, working right away! This microphone makes Dragon so great to use, it really speeds up the charting process. I know it does a lot more than I'm using it for right now, and I look forward to learning all it can do!!!

I needed one of these at work so that I would not have to type as much, and Amazon had the best price anywhere. The Nuance PowerMic is a high-quality, easy-to-use dictation microphone that is truly plug and play. These microphones are somewhat expensive, but worth it for the quality.

Got this to act as a backup for my voice recognition . I absolutely need a back up as how else can I do my work. So, this one was a warehouse deal. Good price. I love this PowerMicI only wish that it worked on a bluetooth so I could walk around the office while doing my work.

I previously used this device at another practice and I liked it a lot.Purchased one for my new position. I expected "plug and play" with Windows 7 (the product is listed as Vista compatable. It auto loaded the software but then froze each time it tried to load my user files. Our IT department and I messed with it for half a day. They reloaded Dragon and even replaced my CPU with a new one. They determined I needed a updated driver but then came back after emailing Nuance to tell me it was the device.Thank you Amazon for your easy return policy, I bought a Phillips and will try that.
