This set of calligraphy paper is very nice. The paper has a matte finish and is a large, pretty much perfect square. The gold is very bright and shiny, and the blues are deep and only at the corners - just enough for a slight eye-catching glimpse. The paper folds well if you want to use for origami. It does have a slight mothball smell though. I don't know if it's from the paint, or the paper itself. But hopefully after being out of the package that will dissipate. I'm going to use them for origami so I can't speak to how well ink would take to the surface of the paper, but it feels like the texture on the top sides is rough enough to grab whatever medium you use.

This paper is lovely! I got it for Chinese New Year's decorations. The sheets are 8.5 x 8.5 inches and are white on one side, decorated on the other. The decorated side is a matte Chinese red. Each corner has a triangular lacy, paisley-ish embellishment. The corner embellishments are primarily sparkling gold laid over dark blue/teal accents. The main part of the page has semi-shiny gold "flecks," roughly the size of sunflower seeds, all over it. I am glad to have this paper!
