Bought these for my husband as he loves having fires and cooking on the fire. He picked up his cast iron after cooking and burnt his hand. How is this heat resistant for up to 1400 degrees if he burnt his hand?Do not recommend. Disappointed.

Works well for taking things out of the oven or off the grill! Just like anything though, if you hang onto the hot item for a bit you will feel the heat start to come through!

These gloves are a miracle! I used them while camping to contain a large fire in a small firepit. And also to cook pies in pie irons. I didn't need to use these gloves a lot, but when I did they outperformed my expectations!

They're a little big and the sleeve part is fairly long if you don't want to roll it up, but they do their job well. I just don't like only having clumsy oven mitts when you're picking up bowls or handles, lids, etc.. that can be tricky to grab without fingers. They seem to work well, I have only used in the kitchen with hot skillets and baking pans, etc. When you're picking things up it works best if you make sure to grab where the red dots are, the heat will travel through the black cloth parts much faster, but still give you a few seconds of resistance before you start feeling it.

These gloves work as intended. I've been able to grab stuff out of the oven or pull a rack straight out of the smoker without burning myself. They seem to be a one size fits all, so they are fairly large. I wear a medium nitrile glove and these have a couple inches on my fingers. For most things, it's not a big deal, but it doesn't give you a ton of dexterity if you're hands are smaller. For example, removing a pan of brownies for my wife, the thumb kinda poked into the brownies because I tried to grab it normally as opposed to as I would with an oven mitt. They work as they should, but if you have smaller hands, its something to be aware of

I had a set of gloves that I used to get trays out of the oven before and they were fantastic! After a number of years, it was time to order a new set so I went with these. When these arrived, I quickly noticed how thick they were and how far up my wrist they went. These are large so can definitely fit a variety of hand sizes. With the thickness, I had high hopes.I was disappointed with these on my first use as I took a tray out of the oven and was quickly feeling the heat... to where I had to set the tray down so I didn't get burned.I would not order these again nor would I recommend them to a friend.

I love to BBQ, and I often host huge feasts for my family and friends. When I am grilling several trays of meats at the same time on my 2 large grills, I want to be able to just grab and turn or move the meat around the grill. So, I bought some silicone gloves, but that was way too much of a workout for my fingers. The silicone gloves were extremely stiff.I've seen some BBQ demo guys wear gloves like this, so I wanted to try it. And, these NutriChef BBQ gloves worked very well me. The attached photo shows my hand on top of a 500F grill. I wouldn't keep it there for more than a few seconds, but the gloves protected my hand well. The photos also show my hands being able to make a fist and move easily. After my test grilling with the gloves, I just washed them as if I was just washing my hands with a bit of dishwashing liquid. Once the gloves dried off, they looked new again.

Did an excellent job protecting my hands. After receiving these bbq gloves I had to put them to the test. How? By touching a hot bbq! Was making chicken wings so it was the perfect opportunity. Touched the lid of my Weber with the coals raging underneath. The thermometer on the lid read 400 F. Took about 10 seconds before I could feel warmth coming through the gloves. Then I grabbed the grill handle. Could feel the warmth right away but could pick up and move the grill without any discomfort. These gloves are also rather comfortable. They're flexible and don't restrict movement like solid silicon bbq gloves. They feel like a pair of thick winter gloves. These gloves pass the test!

Effective heat resistant gloves. They will not protect for ever, there is a limited time they will do their job protecting you. As logic dictates the higher the temperature the shorter the time you have. But even then the time you have is long enough to do stuff in the heat. For example I can pick up a smoking tube from the BBQ with the gloves to remove it or reposition it. But don't hold it for more than a minute or two, you will start feeling the heat. I also pick up the rotisserie rod off the BBQ and hold it long enough to remove it. I can then use the gloves to open the screws holding the forks or the basket in place to remove the food (I don't touch the food with these gloves...).I have not tried washing them yet.
