  • By storing in optimum conditions, freeze-dried foods will last up to 25 years. These conditions are a cool, dry place between 55°-75°. Most importantly, freeze-dried foods need to be protected from moisture, oxygen, and sunlight.

  • Once your Nutristore can is open, freeze-dried food can last up to 6-12 months depending on storage conditions. The biggest hindrance to open can shelf life is exposure to air, light and moisture.

  • We source Nutristore foods from trusted suppliers worldwide, including the USA, Canada, Ecuador, Greece, Costa Rica, Uruguay, Argentina, Serbia, New Zealand, India, Poland, Mexico, and Chile, depending on the season.

  • Many of our fruits and vegetables are sourced non-GMO.

  • Yes, all our cans are BPA free! It may help to know that our cans are coated with a food-grade enamel. This lining does not contain BPA. This coating is used to further prevent oxygen, moisture, rust and light from coming in contact with the food.

This is the real deal! The beef pieces rehydrate best in warm/hot water, almost cover the meat and let it soak1hr.It is not salted or spiced at all. Right from the can is a great tasting snack but a tad expensive to waste thata way.I've added to rice pilaf, chilli and veg soups... I bought plenty and shelf life is 25+ yrs in a cool area for storing.Great Flavor, Super Convinient, Flexible And 25+ Years Shelf Storable For Emergency Provisions.

These beef dices were pretty tasty, especially in things like soups and stews. Since they are pre-cooked, it takes less time to make a meal. I've used them in canning vegetable beef soup and felt they tasted even better over time.

This is one of the first freeze dried products I have tried. I found it easy to use as I gain confidence in learning about long term food storage. It will also work great for the meals in jars I am already developing recipes for.Shared and discussed the beef cubes with friends who have health issues and they found that this form powders well for liquid diets while retaining the full beef flavor. Important for those who prefer the flavors of home cooking. We also appreciate the knowledge there are no added chemicals on the ingredient label. Just beef and salt listed on the can of diced beef. Only chicken listed on the can of diced chicken. We choose what is added to our food.

There was less in the can than expected. I used what added up to 5 cups wet for a beef stew recipe. It turned out decently (beef cubes in 10# can) and was not chewy like a steak I tried from a other brand. I wonder how many actual servings there. Will post back when I have used up the can to see if what they posted is correct. Overall, I would buy again.

Forget Prepping. I buy beef with meals in mind. But busy as I am, I’m unable to cook every night. So food often goes bad before I get to use it. This product is perfect for me. I really like it for Chili, Tacos and Bolognese as well. It tastes great and has a great mouth feel. This is the only reason I haven’t tried the ground beef. Makes meals fast and easy for me and cut out the spoilage. The broccoli is great as well, but not for what you’d think.

No, I’m most definitely NOT a “prepper”, but realizing that during a large scale emergency we can’t always expect the government and NGOs to come blazing to our immediate rescue, I’ve been slowly laying in a stock of freeze dried food in #10 cans. I realized, however, that many of the standard, just add boiling water one pot meals are relatively low in protein and high in carbohydrates, so I decided to supplement them with freeze dried meat, also in #10 cans, serving size portions of which can be added during the reconstitution process.I figured that “freeze dried meat is freeze dried meat” so I first purchased Nutristore product, which came in at a slightly lower price point than the tried and true Mountain House brand. During an Amazon Prime days, however, I found that the price on Mountain House diced cooked beef was slashed by around 35% so I grabbed an unplanned can. When I received the can it felt “different”; lighter than the matching Nutristore diced cooked beef, which triggered some label comparisons.• #10 can of Nutristore contained 600 grams, 24% more than the 482 gm in the Mountain House can.• Nutristore had 25 24 gm 130 calorie servings, Mountain House had 15 32 gm 140 cal servings• Nutristore beef had 0.3 gm total fat per gram beef, close to 3 times as much as Mountain House’s 0.08 gm total fat per gram beef.• Nutristore had 21 mg sodium per gram of beef, 35% less than Mountain House’s 28 mg sodium per gram beefAs I was planning to only add portions of freeze dried beef into various freeze dried meals, and consequently NOT using a large portion of the can at once the one other consideration is that Mountain House says that remaining contents needs to be used within 7 days of the can being opened. Nutristore, however, says that as long as the container is promptly closed and stored properly the contents of an open can should be good for 6-12 months. My conclusion – gotta pick your poison – Mountain House product has a lot less fat but more sodium. Nutristore on the other hand will hopefully do better if I’m only using a scoop or two at a time from the can. And I’m gonna go lie down because my brain’s gonna explode.

You never know when an emergency or catastrophe will hit and being prepared is the smartest thing a person can do for themselves and their loved ones, even if you don’t use it right away they last 25 to 30 years so even if you don’t manage to go out grocery shopping or have taken to being unable to get out of your home for undo reason such as an accident that has left you unable to get outa your home your prepared you can still go in your cupboard and use this for an amazing meal I’ve even made it for dinner feeling lazy and nothing defrosted came in really handy made an amazing beef burgioun even my hubby didn’t even realize the difference that I had not used fresh store-bought meat the flavour was amazing tender top-notch meat not no low end cuts in these #10 cans and that is #1 priority in my books I completely recommend this purchase

Small beef size bits. Small the size of fingernails. They don’t expand as much as others claimed in their reviews. Taste is bland. The only and best thing is that it has a 25 year shelf life.
