Oakton EcoTestr pH1 Waterproof Pocket Tester
The economical, simple-to-use pH tester measures pH levels and temperatures quickly, displaying them both simultaneously on a large dual-line LCD. It has a pH range from 0 to 14 with an accuracy of ±0.1 pH. The tester features up to three pH calibration points with auto NIST and US buffer recognition.
Additional features include a long-lasting durable electrode with polymer reference electrolyte; status icons for measurement stability, calibration, battery life; and self-diagnostics. The IP67-rated housing features an easy-to-grip design and floats if accidentally dropped in water when sensor cap is on. The tester, powered by four AAA batteries, can operate up to 400 hours continuously.

All I wanted was a TDS tester like another Oakton unit I had. What I received from reading the operating manual is a complicated tester requiring more solutions to calibrate and store that were not pointed out on purchase and a push this button and that button to calibrate for use. I live outside the country, so this device appears to be a total waste of my money.

Item is as described I failed to notice screen is not capable of backlighting. Which would help read the display. End use is hydroponic tank mixes and blends.Meter read our R.O. at 0 micro siemens. Soften WW reading 860ppm.Waiting on calibration solution to see if meter is worth keeping.Bought as a "used" from Amazon. Will update as needed.

This DOES give reading of what it describes to do, but it is very tricky to use. You must be tech savvy to get the readings out. NOT easy to use at all.

I use this to check the salt level in my pool. The original one started giving me "zero" readings and I was not able to calibrate it. After communication with Oakton, they determined that it was failed. I contacted Amazon and that unit was replaced with a new one. I was able to calibrate this one and verified the reading was consistent with my chlorinator readings and the water test at the pool store. Pretty much hassle free. I did have to return the original one.
