For those debating this product...I spent 4 days trying to fix a leaky threaded connection that ran to my outdoor spigot. I used Teflon tape. Didn't work. I used thread compound sealant. Didn't work. I then tried various combinations of the two and still ended up with a few drops of water at the end of the day. I even swapped out both the male and female connectors and still I ran into the same issue.I write this review 3 weeks later after using this Blue Block and I am happy to report that this product did the trick!Be sure to follow the directions and let the Block set up for a few minutes before making the connection. I also let it sit for about 12 hours before turning on the water pressure.

I heard this is the best product for sealing black iron pipe for natural or LP gas usage. My whole house was plumbed by myself and a friend who is a plumber. A week later we air tested the house. EVERY FITTING BLEW BUBBLES !!! A few leaking, operator failure. But, all of them, that’s a massive product failure. The pipe was if foreign origin, but, there were some connections made by cutting and threading by a certified trade craftsman. They bubbled also. Now I get to start all over!! Oh joy !! Oh well, better now than later when my family was inside sleeping and this stuff lets go. Spewing gas everywhere, heaters going full blast, tankless water heater going full blast. I am thankful it happened now. Choose another product.

This is great for use on my diesel fuel storage tank, but it is not for potable water systems. The label states that, but it is not clearly identified in the product description.

Supposed to be the best thread sealant. Didn't work so well for me. Had less leakage with Teflon tape, and much less mess.

I've been using this for my latest vehicle build. It has never failed to stop a leak from oil to high pressure fuel rails. This stuff just rocks. As others have mentioned it is sticky nasty stuff, so make sure you wear gloves and have something under you when using it. Typical "oops!" or other solvent removers will remove drips and mistakes from hard surfaces but i'm pretty sure you'll never get it out of clothing. Mine came with a bent up applicator, so check it when you get it to make sure it's not damaged.

Worked well in a water application, a new pump for the cistern. I bought it to fix a split in the fuel filler hose. Didn't know it 'wasn't recommended for fuel applications' until I got it. Went ahead anyway. Put tape on the outside of the split and filled it w/ blue goop. Impregnated a 1.5 in strip of white dress shirt w/ goop and placed it over the split [like fiberglass] inside, some strip hanging out. Let it cure for 3 weeks and installed it.It's been 6 months [KNOCK WOOD:D] with no leaks and the motor or injectors haven't locked up.Have a bottle of alcohol handy, this stuff is messy, no matter how careful you are. Alcohol removes it easily, even from clothes if you catch it early.The ethanol in gas is prob why it's not for use with fuel. Here's hoping the curing defeats that. And yes, I was going to buy a new hose but they wanted $90.

I purchased this as a homeowner who wanted to reconnect a NG pipe to my BBQ and I wanted the security of having a leak-proof seal…the first time. This product delivered! It was easy to apply, lubricated the threads, and provided a gas-tight seal at all the junctions.Some Reviewers note issues with cleanup. In the “micro” font on the label, the manufacturer states that the liquid (solvent) of this sealant is isopropyl alcohol, and that this can be used for clean-up. Isopropyl alcohol is the chemical name for RUBBING alcohol, available widely. That made for very easy clean-up, and a professional-looking job. Just make sure that the rubbing alcohol that you use is 90% or higher isopropyl alcohol. The lower percentages are too watery to do the job.I also will pass along something I do with cans containing built-in daubers in the cap. These are way too messy for me as an occasional user of such products. I use a tin snip and I cut the dauber off near the lid and just let it sink into the can. When I need some product, I mix up contents with a disposable stick (a chopstick works well), and then apply with a Q-tip to where it is needed. That saves me a lot of mess!

This is a great product and a real lifesaver for sealing leaky threads, gaskets and other projects.It's consistency is like a much thicker, stronger and stickier version of TFE paste. I'd almost consider it a hybrid between light duty blue locktite and TFE paste "it's very sticky but doesn't really work as a glue".It is easy to apply to surfaces with as little or as much as needed for the job.I recommend having some gojo, goop or other hand cleaner around as it's pretty tough to wash off if you get it on your hands, but not really a serious issue.This product works well for me, I like it and strongly recommend it.
