I like the design but it bends too easily. But it did work.

This split ring was exactly what I needed to replace a 35 year old rusted steel toilet mounting ring that looked very much like one of the posted photos. The hardest part (which wasn't too difficult) was removing the old dead ring. I, like another reviewer, used a Dremel with a cut-off disc to carefully cut it without messing up any part of the ABS flange. I used #12 X 1-1/2" stainless flat head wood screws to secure it to a wooden sub-floor before mounting the toilet. I know this is off topic, and I might get kickback, but I no longer caulk around the base of toilets with the idea being that if a leak occurs it will be easier to detect if there is no caulk dam to contain it. It should be noted that I'm not a plumber by trade.

This is what you need if you have a broken closet flange. My house was built in 1987 and after a second floor overlay, the installers didn't add a spacer to the closet flange (the flange must be above the finished floor). This resulted in a very, very slow leak that rusted out the original flange and rotted the wood sub floor. Some new 3/4" ply and this stainless steel replacement flange, and things are good to go. I only provided 4 stars because the kit does not come with stainless steel hardware. I encourage you to use stainless hardware when attaching this to the flooring.

While replacing a bathroom floor, discovered that the steel ring on the ABS toilet flange had rusted. After carefully cutting off and removing the old ring with a dremel cutting wheel, I installed this replacement flange. It fits perfectly. The item consists of two half circle pieces that fit around the ABS flange. The metal is sturdy - a heavier gauge than other stainless steel flanges seen at big box stores. I secured it to the floor with #12 x 1-1/2 inch flat head stainless steel screws purchased separately. 5/16" toilet bolts fit perfectly in the guide slots. BTW, I was advised to use only stainless steel or brass screws/bolts with this ring because if you use aluminum bolts or ordinary screws, the interaction between the metals will result in corrosion. Very happy with this purchase.

Well, first off: it ain't stainless. Galvanized steel for sure. However, the design is stiffer than the only stainless ring I found, and finally, I used this ring not the SS ring. Next concern: this is not an easy repair, though this split design helps a lot. It is tempting to put a nut on the T-Bolt port and starboard - but then, the ring plus bolt plus nut is too high, and the toilet will rest on the nuts, and rock. So, when I installed, I fully filled the T-Bolt slot with toilet gasket wax - which is sticky enough and high enough viscosity to support the T-Bolt, as I lowered the toilet onto the ring. Also, the darn T-Bolt that came with the ring was plated steel, steel nuts, 1/4-20. Dumb - bought 5/16-18 solid brass T-Bolt, used stainless steel nuts and washers ... should help on corrosion for the next lucky fellow who has to reseat this toilet in say, 2035. Oh yes: the slot is wide enough for 5/16-18.

The otherwise flimsy and cheep quality of these products is easily overridden by the great and simple fix it affords compared to having to replace the entire closet pipe. The flange fits around the PVC lip and secures the pipe just as well as the original flange.
