I had a check engine light on and so I decided to get a budget friendly scanner. This one is pretty easy to use, provides quick and accurate engine code readings, and works with all OBD II protocol cars since 1996. The display is clear, and navigating the menu is straightforward, even for beginners. It’s great for checking engine light issues, monitoring voltage life, and saving money on unnecessary trips to the mechanic. If you want a reliable and affordable scanner for troubleshooting car problems, this is the one to get.

The product works well but I think its best feature is how thin the device is. Storing it in my car takes very minimal space. Most devices I have used that test codes are bulky.

Very basic scanner, very "old school" feeling. Works well. My older early 2000s honda was throwing codes, I hooked this up and it read them accurately with no issues. Chunky size, but it's not an issue. Worth the price.

This is a very basic, but functional scanner. It is economically priced and a great value. This is by no means a commercial scanner, but is works well to do the basic job of reading codes (and clearing certain codes). The screen display and interphase are very basic.

I have used other ODBII readers and this functions as expected. I don't currently have a vehicle with a code, so hard to verify that it reads codes, but I have no reason to believe it would not. According to the manual, it will allow you to clear codes, which is convenient if you are replacing parts and want to verify if the code comes back. It also has a feature I have not seen on others and that is the ability to put in a diagnostic code for looking up what it means, which was a neat feature. The reader has 6 screens and switching between the screens seems sluggish to me. Having said that, for the price, this does function and connect to my vehicles. It is relatively lower in price compared to other models and I have used, so a good thing to throw in a toolbox to carry around and not be overly stressed if something happens to it.I'll keep this in the toolbox and lend it out if needed while keeping my higher end reader safe.

I got this as a present for my husband, who loves his car, but it's a bit too old to be serviced at an official dealer. He had an intermittent "check engine" light, and by connecting this tool, he immediately discovered the reason. Luckily, it wasn’t an expensive issue to fix. By the way, checking the engine light at the official service costs more than $300, so this tool paid for itself right there! It also has multiple other functions, like live data streaming, vehicle details, and the ability to erase error codes. One thing to note: even though the interface allows for different language settings, the error codes themselves still show in English. Not a problem for him, but something to keep in mind.Overall, he said it's a great product - sturdy, well-built, and works without any issues.
