It’s a nice reed case especially for the price. I was skeptical at first but, it actually turned out rather pretty. I’d recommend leaving it open to air out the smell of the fresh wood stain but, other than that there aren’t any issues.

I purchased this case in 2020, and it was great. Definitely made of wood, and it had a slight varnish smell, which went away after 2 days. I wanted a spare, so ordered another in Dec 2021. This is a completely different case, NOT made of wood, but of some kind of plastic/ resin composite. The weight is lighter, the feel is different, and the smell is so toxic it made me dizzy. I would not store my reeds in this case. Sent it back.

I'm a senior in high school and here's my take: The magnets in the case make a very satisfying sound. The case will definitely not open by itself and the velvet inside is good quality. The wood is a little more red than I was expecting but I like the unique color. Overall a great purchase!

Hello fellow oboe players, this case did what I needed it to do which is holding my massive amounts of reeds for me (blanks and all). It did what I needed it to do and the magnet is fairly good, I have two of these and the hinges on both are not quite good. They seem to be damaging the main 'wood' on the case and it can be kind of stressful. Overall, it's a decent purchase and will fulfill your oboe reed storage requirements.

Really don't get the negative review here. Yes, this is real wood and I just ordered two more. Already have six of the smaller cases. No, the smell is not permanent, it seems to be left-over wood stain and if you leave the case open for a few days it vanishes. The hinges are not loose. It looks great and it works great!

I was a little scared of buying this case from Amazon because they don't exactly specialize in musical accessories or instruments, especially this one because it didn't have any reviews, but it's great! I am very satisfied with the quality, it's the cheapest wooden 20 oboe reed case I've found and it's great! it's a nice smooth cherry wood on the outside and nice black velvet on the inside. It stays closed with magnets in the wood and has little holes for ventilation to prevent reeds from molding. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a good case for oboe reeds and all other options are more expensive.

Good case for a good price. Magnetic closure is sturdy, air vents on both sides. Hoping it holds up well over time!
