I bought 2 new Oceanic CDX Alpha 10 regulators to replace my 12 year old Oceanic CDX 5 which are no longer supported by Oceanic. Both brand new CDX regulators failed and had Intermediate Pressure creep (IP) with less than 75 dives on each regulator. - - Never again. Oceanic seems to be 2nd tier from Huish Outdoors with little support.

I bought oceanic's starter kit after my open water class. I wanted a set of gear to get me started and enabled me to dive locally without having to rent each weekend that I wanted to go diving. Also wanted the peace of mind to know the gear is properly serviced and well maintained. I have about 10 dives on the set so far. I love it. Ive tried buddies of mine other regulator sets and think this breathes just as well (as far as I can tell) as some very expensive sets. Withtat said, I am not a diver with thousands of dives under my belt and so probably cannot notice very tiny differences that very experienced divers can. Also, this set seems very durable and the fact that it doesnt have a rotating turret is, for me, a nonissue since the hoses are so flexible. Ill have this set for a long time while I build out the rest of my gear; thats for sure.Just the other day, my instructor wanted me to do a weight check at 500psi during our safety stop so we bled air out of the octo and inflator simultaneously. No issues breathing from my primary second stage at depth while doing this. Would recommend. Good value for the money.

I recently received my Alpha 10 from my local dive shop. I work as a Divemaster, and have put 20+ dives on it since October. The design is rugged, great for professionals and recreational divers alike, because I know it will last. The braided second stage hose adds an extra layer of style and comfort. I like the ease of breathing and how light the second stage is. The purge/free flow is also very minimal, even when pushing down the purge button.All of the ports on the first stage are placed to add variety for hose placement and comfort. The first stage is very low profile and doesn't hit me in the back of the head.This regulator offers reliability and high quality without the high price tag.
