Poor quality control. Both the adjusting cups have deep gouges right out of the box. The black dust covers that say sealed mechanism and patent pending is loose marketing as they are just thin black plastic and are no more sealed than a regular metal set. Did not even install, returned for exchange. Exchange arrived looking like a 90% clone of the first, gouges in the same spots.

Have an old 2008 FitBikeCo with mid bb bottom bracket that my son and I completely rebuilt - this went right in, zero problems. Slapped in some grease, rides smooth as ever. Didn't have instructions but if you need them, it's on YouTube.Looks really clean, love the polished cup ring against the bike paint. Gives a little pop where normally it would just be black.

bought as an upgrade to the bearings of a Little 500 race bike. a huge improvement over Schwinn stock components.

If you want a sealed cartridge bearing set for one piece cranks, they have them here on Amazon. It is the Tange BB220SB. It has the 24tpi standard. It’s a direct replacement for the usual cup and cone set but has sealed cartridge bearings. The press in cups are shaped and sized for the sealed bearings.ASIN B071JNRQ1J

It's a solid set of components. Basic design and basic function. Installation took 5 min, runs smoother than the bearings that came with the bike new. Much better than dept store grade bearings but I probably wouldn't use them for a high end bike. Great for that 20" BMX from wal Mart that ain't what she used to be.

I was initially lured to this set because of the "Sealed Mechanism" you see printed on the plastic dust cover in the photos. I somehow thought they found a way to make a modern sealed cartridge bearing fit the old school one piece cranks fount on department store kids bikes. I was wrong... The "Sealed Mechanism" is just a hard plastic ring that you put onto the bearing cage before tightening the cone nut. That being said I was still happy with this set up.The cage has a dozen balls vs the 9 balls on the stock or generic replacement sets. During the installation I didn't take into account that I would need a special hook spanner tool to tighten the drive side cone nut, but this set had wrench flats on the cone nut instead of the notches that would require the special tool. The tool costs as much as this set and forget about trying to find one during the Corona Virus lockdown. I liked the quality of the steel and the fact that this set was made in Taiwan. Once greased & installed pedaling the bike was much smoother than before even when it was new.

It’s basically just a regular loose ball bottom bracket the only difference is the little dust cap things. The price was really low and it seems to work pretty well.
