This alternator to my eye is no different than the one that goes on the 3.5L in the Police Pursuit package Ford offers and I think it puts out the same amperage, which is a LOT. And that's useful in a vehicle that gets upgraded electrically (winch, inverter outlets, whatever) and electronically (booming amps, etc.) quite a bit. This will handle it all.

Item is defective. Did not even last 1 year. Item caused my headlights to flicker every 3-4 seconds and burned up my battery. Item caused my car voltage to surge constantly every 3-4 seconds from 13 to 14.3. Need refund and return. It took 4 hours to install this. I AM NOT HAPPY.

The alternator I bought seemed promising at first, but it quickly turned into an absolute nightmare. After just two months of use, it completely gave out on me! This kind of unreliability is simply unacceptable and has left me feeling extremely disappointed.To make matters worse, when I reached out for assistance or possible return options, I was informed that the warranty had expired or there were no longer any available remedies due to exceeding the allotted timeframe for returns. This lackluster customer service only added insult to injury!Not only did this faulty alternator cost me my hard-earned money but also wasted valuable time and effort in its installation and subsequent removal from my vehicle. The inconvenience caused by this subpar product cannot be overlooked.I strongly advise potential buyers against purchasing this particular brand/model as it clearly lacks durability and reliability even within a relatively short span of usage. Save yourself from unnecessary frustration by exploring alternative options instead.

The alternator arrived in good condition. Installation was straightforward and it seems to be working perfectly after 500 miles.

Replaced alternator with this and it still says charging system issue and battery light still on! How does this get fixed?

This fits 2014 Ford Explorer. It puts out a good voltage (13.6-14.2), but lights are flickering and "Check Charging System" indication is on. I won't return it, since it's too much pain to replace it again, but I would not buy it again.UPDATE: it appears that diode on this alternator sucks. When checking with VOM/DMM on battery terminals voltage jumps all the time between 13.2 to 14.5, so it drives car computer nuts and it issues a "Check Charging System" warning. Bought a used Motorcraft alternator - problem solved. Don't buy this piece of crap.
