I had a strange problem, my old contactor was cutting out only for like a half a second and then would come back on checked the thermostat all good so I changed the contactor and solved the problem. Would have eventually burned out the compressor.

It took me about 30 minutes or so because I wanted to be certain of the connections. It helped to take photos of the older installation to avoid wiring errors. I also didn't want to damage any of the wire connections like the ones with the slip-on "spade" connectors.
