Bought the original chair as a kid in 1974 (using my paper route money, believe it or not) paid $9.45 (red, new) at Wickes Furniture outside Chicago. Still have it; love it, and so do my kids and nieces and nephews, but I wouldn't pay $200 today.

I have mixed feelings about these chairs, as others have mentioned the price is steep when you consider this is a molded piece of plastic, and not a very large one at that. I ordered 4 white chairs to use as kid seating on our deck, the chairs came filthy as if they had been collecting dust in a warehouse, but did wipe down pretty easily - so have your cleaning supplies ready to go. Other than that my kids adore these chairs, they stack for easy storage and while I was skeptical about comfort without a cushion these chairs are very comfortable even for an adult (though getting out can be tricky if you’re tall haha). The price and the fact that they were dirty on arrival are my only complaints - these will get tons of use and seem as though they will stand up to years of wear and tear, which helps me justify the price. Now off to search for a cover that I can use to cover them once stacked so they don't fill with water when it rains.

My middle schoolers LOVE these. The only reason for 4 stars is they are ridiculously expensive for a piece of molded plastic.

These are perfect. They are shockingly comfortable. All the kids in the library love them. Easy to clean, don't scuff teasily, light-weight and stackable. Much better than bean bags in terms of maintenance and longevity. But the cost??? It is a big piece of plastic and way over priced. The recent sale reduction to $125 is the best I've seen.

I bought 4 of these for my middle school library. They arrived after school and a group of teachers tried them out. We all agreed that they are very comfortable and will make amazing alternate seating for students of all sizes.

It isn't worth as $149. The chair itself is nice though.

My 12 year old daughter loves this chair. And when she is not sitting in it, it serves as a hamper where she picks all of the clothes off of her floor and throws them in the chair :)

The description is accurate. I purchased these for my middle school library and believe that they will stand the test of time in terms of sturdiness. They are surprisingly comfortable and stack nicely if you need to get them out of the way. I paid $99 each for them, and while I don't think they are quite worth this much, this seems to be the going price. I
