Got this for my Mother. She is very picky about furniture and when I first told her about it she said that maybe she could find a place for it in the back room. That she didn’t think it would work in her primary office. After arrival, so impressed by the styling, she changed her tune and now has it on the main stage.One virtue is that the unit arrives fully assembled. Being a decorated furniture assembly veteran, it is LOVELY to not have to assemble anything. One drawer arrived damaged but Sauder was quick to replace it.Yes, the price is high, but worth it given the quality construction, excellent design and solid customer service.I trust this review was helpful, thank you for reading.

Like the title says, the cherry finish on this file cabinet is gorgeous. However, that’s the only thing that’s good about this piece of furniture. I was so excited to receive this piece…I’ve needed a file cabinet for the longest time. When my husband unboxed it for me, we found the front of the middle drawer completely broken off, and the front of the top drawer hanging, with one side broken off on the backside, and the other side already splitting. The remnants of the middle drawer were also jammed into the cabinet. It took a lot of careful wrangling for me to remove it without breaking it. The bottom file drawer doesn’t slide smoothly and seems to catch on something. The packing box we received this in was in pristine condition, so it was extremely surprising to find the cabinet in the condition it was in. I can’t tell you how disappointed I am about this.

This is an excellent filing cabinet/drawer. It looks fantastic, the drawers open with ease, and it is excellent quality. It is pretty heavy, so adds a bit of security as it will be more difficult for a thief to walk off with this than a standard light metal cabinet. The locking mechanism works fine. The lock could be defeated with a pry bar, but so can most locks on cabinets like this. It is not a safe, just a locking drawer.Very satisfied with this and it arrived 99% assembled (had to attach the drawer handles. I was surprised by that as I got the same cabinet in a different color and had lots of assembly to do.

Sauder has long been a go-to name for office furniture and this is a GREAT example of why and what they can do. It’s certainly not the cheapest filing cabinet you can buy, but the reason for that becomes clear when the over 75 lbs (!!!) box arrives at your delivery address. This is no flimsy steel cabinet - it’s solidly built to stand up to the day to day needs of a office for a LONG time. It also comes nearly fully assembled - you really just have to put the wheels on with a few screens each and the drawer handles/hanging file guides (if you’re using those) and you’re ready to go. It came out of the box without a scratch but does include a touch up pen if you need it (I did have one drawer front that had come loose in shipping but it was a simple matter to tighten the screens and it hasn’t come loose in use).The size is generous as well - larger than the cheaper metal cabinet I replaced both in overall size and internal capacity as well. While this is still “engineered wood” vs true cherry hardwood, it is thick and sturdy (hence the weight) and feels like it will last a LONG time in use. If anything is a weak point, it might be the wheels which are on the small size, but I don’t see myself wheeling this around very often so they shouldn’t see much stress. I guess my only caution here would be to make sure you have some help with the moving and unboxing of the cabinet since it IS large and heavy.So if you need a file cabinet that can stand up to some real use (and abuse) while holding a lot of stuff and look good doing it, this could well be a great choice for you!

This is a heavy , nicely stained engineered wood cabinet. It arrived with both small drawer fronts broken off. The “wood” was exposed so you could tell this looks like compressed fine wood shavings. It was necessary to glue the fronts back on and touch up shipping damage. Once back together, the cabinet did lock. You will need a drill or screwdriver to install the wheels, but the wheels are wonderful and the cabinet moves easily. The cabinet is a professional office type cabinet and does dress up the home office. It is heavy.

This sauder pedestal cabinet came a little damaged is must have gotten crushed during shipment pushing the middle drawer in and forcing the drawer face off. It was a pretty clean break so I was able to use some wood glue and fix the drawer. This comes pre-assembled just have to screw in the handles. There is an internal mechanism that prevents all drawers opening at the same time. There is wheels underneath that are hidden from view but it does move very smoothly over the floor. This is such a nice quality cabinet and looks just like the pictures. Even with the mishap on the drawer face which is not the sellers fault you can tell it happened in transit this is an amazing looking pedestal file cabinet that looks great, has locking drawers, and built in safety mechanism for the drawers. This is surely on the expensive side but it is very well made.

The item came broken, front panel on the bottom big draw was broke off. It is not real wood it is junk!
