The M80 AI Translator is a powerful tool with impressive capabilities, but it was a bit tricky to get started. The setup process wasn’t the most intuitive, and it took some time to figure out how to navigate the interface. Once up and running, though, it became much easier to use.Translation performance is excellent, with support for 142 languages online and 19 offline, plus ultra-fast response times and high accuracy. The photo translation feature works well for menus, signs, and printed text, and the built-in recording and ChatGPT integration are helpful extras for meetings or learning on the go. I may have to use these when talking to neighbors, which is so handy to have.The device is lightweight, portable, and has a long-lasting battery—great for travel or daily use. Despite the initial learning curve, the M80 is a smart, convenient companion for language learners, travelers, and professionals alike.

More in package than advertised.First of all it says package contains translator device. Yes it does, it also includes a soft pliable clear plastic cover. A short USB-C charge cable, and an operation manual in several languages. These were issues I was concerned about.Testing: Since I have a native German speaker (Hoch Deutsch) and a native English speaker testing it back and forth. We have not been able to trick it even with long or confusing words or phrases. We tested German compound words a 79 letter German word, the translation was correct in a literal sense. though it did miss a little on the subtle underlying meaning, but close enough to get the meaning. Not every word in one language has a direct corresponding word in another language.The translator is compact and easy to use. You just have to hold to the correct recording key down while speaking.First start up it asks to connect to a wifi system to register itself and check for software updates. There was a software update and it went smoothly without issue. The screen is easy to read and the brightness is adequate. The volume could be a little louder, but should be adequate for normal background noise levels.What could be better: These are not problems, just wish list of stuff for possible future updates.If the battery ICON could show actual percent charge when touched would be nice. If the clock face could be changed to a different skin, or shown as a digital clock would also be a nice touch. The translator does not appear to be able to switch to landscape mode for text However taking pictures in landscape will display it in Landscape mode but will translate the text and display it in portrait mode.Question: On the translator's left side near the top is what appears to be a micro-SD card slot. It is not mentioned in any of the literature. Is it an actual slot (don't want to stick anything in there and possibly break something) or is it a generic case and is just there?

Nice portable translator if you don't want to use your phone, or are worried about the phone battery wearing out.As a traveler this is a nice device for translation.

My son in law's mother speaks Spanish; the translator works great when we visit we don't have to have my son in law interpret what she's saying and vice versa. I also tried it on Spanish TV stations, radio stations on Shortwave radio with different languages.

Walking around a neighborhood with a lot of international shops and signage, for example, there are a lot of signs written in a foreign language. Having a device specifically for translating makes things really easy, as I don’t have to search for an app on my phone, and can very quickly just whip it out and start translating. Being able to translate both text and speech in one tool really makes the language barrier much easier to cross!

I got this for a recent trip and it turned out pretty useful. The voice translation reacts fast and helped me out at the train station and restaurants. I didn’t try all the functions yet but the ones I used worked alright. Touchscreen is responsive and it's light enough to carry around in a pocket. Battery holds ok, I charged it every couple days just in case. Would recommend if you’re going somewhere new and need help with signs or basic convos.
