As someone thats a fan of building up my art materials and recently getting into practicing with a set of cheap alcohol markers it was always a little awkward that the paper that I owned was alright for markers but you had to be mindful about other pages or the lightboard (if you use one) providing a sheet to block it and only using one side. This on the other hand truly gives you the full page amount worth of drawings thanks to being genuinely bleed-proof, something you can test before you've even unwrapped it thanks to the useful tips sheet ohuhu sketchbooks come with that are purposely made from the same type of paper.I obviously opened the sketchbook though noting that it has a very sturdy cover/back and an elastic binder that does its job of keeping the sheets from rolling up, the paper is inside is smooth as you'd actually want for markers and can be removed if you want to do so (though personally I avoid that). The one thing that may trip people up is that markets take a bit longer to dry but it does make attempting to do blending easier and its a non-issue compared to the non-bleed effectively doubling usable page count compared to using markers on more 'ordinary' paper types. Pencils still work fine for doing initial sketches though doing full non-marker art in it would be a waste in my opinion so I did not do that.I feel like I am going to have a lot of fun filling this up with doodles as I continue to practice marker control, perhaps I'll upgrade to Ohuhu's own markers in the future. For now though I can say this is quite recommendable.

I was quite impressed with the quality of this A5 sketch book. The paper thickness is 150gsm which works well with a variety of art medium. You get 60 sheets per pad. All in all good quality paper that I’d definitely reach for again!

This Ohuhu sketchbook really impressed me with its overall quality. The hardback cover feels durable and premium, offering great protection for your artwork. The paper inside is smooth, thick (150GSM), and genuinely bleedproof – I’ve tested it with several markers and there was no leakage at all, even with heavy colouring. The square format (21x21cm) is a nice touch, giving your work a modern look and plenty of space to create. Great choice for artists who want reliable paper that can handle marker work without compromise.

Fast delivery and a great quality. The pages do not bleed at all, even with several layers of ink for shading. Highly recommended!

I did a full two page spread illustration with alcohol markers and it only had bleed through along the perforation and where the paper is sewn together. I used washi tape on the other side of the page over the bleed through along the perforation to cover it for the illustrations on the next page. So if you color over the perforations there will be some bleed through. I like this paper a lot. I have the older ohuhu marker sketchbook that is the same size as this one. It has some major bleed through issues, but the blending on the paper is a bit better than it is on this one. The markers lay down very smooth and streak free color, however, you can't really tell what the colors are going to look like until they dry. It's a bit hard to explain, but the alcohol on the paper has this odd graying effect while the ink is wet. That's the only issue that I had with this paper. It actually led me to producing flatter illustrations. I don't really mind it because it works fine with the style of art I intended to use the book for. If you need to do a whole lot of blending and not just minor shading and blending, you might want to look at other paper options. If you don't mind waiting til the ink is dry to see the true colors, this paper is really excellent quality.

This pad/book is AMAZING! It's like MAGIC that the markers do not seap through at ALL! I keep checking every time I use my markers on the paper, and nothing on the reverse side, ever!🤯

Impressive! And I was so happy they had a hardbound version of this since I'm not a big fan of wireframeI was actually a bit hesitant to get this because I had a feeling it would be similar to the Crescent sketchbook, which I have a love/hate relationship with it since the paper made it hard to blend and the ink would smudge no matter how many days it's beenThis sketchbook is similar to the Crescent sketchbook but I personally find it to be MUCH better.Yes, the paper is different and when you put down light/pale colours, it appears as Grey or very transparent and you have to wait for it to dry for the colour to appear (just like the Crescent one) which can be annoying and make blending much more difficultBut other than that, I feel like it is better because the ink doesn't smudge at all (at least for me it didn't so far), it blends better than the other brand, I don't see any blotches or streaks and just as advertised, it really is bleed proof and you can definitely use both sides of the page!Overall, I think Ohuhu has the best quality sketchbook. I always loved and used their mixed media sketchbook and now this one is my 2nd favorite

I don't do marker art so I don't know but my 14 yo loves it and does a lot of his work in it. Was a gift. Paper quality is nice and smooth, thick, and no bleeding.

As always, Ohuhu has another excellent product. I have loved their alcohol markers and watercolor markers for a long time, using them non-stop in my sketchbooks. Typically, I draw in Moleskine's Cahier series, and most recently have been excited to start using my new collection of Stillman & Birn. Out of those two, I'd compare this one from Ohuhu to be somewhere in the middle. The cover is the perfect touch of softness and rigidity. I seriously appreciate the attention to detail in it. It opens flat and has removable pages, as well, though I'm not sure how well I like that aspect. I don't intend to remove pages and do have some slight concerns I could accidentally tear the perforation if I'm not careful with my page turns. The paper quality, however, seems top-notch. Ohuhu's marketing material that was included states the paper is made from a specific process, designed to prevent bleed. I don't know what they did, but it seems to work. In my initial test, the markers did not bleed through. Time will tell how well layering holds up and whether it eventually bleeds after several passes, but for now, it has performed better than other sketchbooks with equal or heavier weight paper. The absolute only negative I can provide at this time is very nit-picky. I merely wish the corners of the cover (and possible pages) had a slight rounding to them. It's essentially a perfect square, which is theoretically great for prevent cut-off edges on your full-bleed drawings, but it does provide more surface area to receive dings as it drops in and out of a pack for travel.About me— I'm a 43-yr old artist/designer/photographer, who draws for a hobby, alongside my UI/UX daily job. I draw almost exclusively in sketchbooks now, across a variety of mediums, and am finding the older I get, the more I appreciate the tactile feel of traditional media and hand-drawn art.

As described! There is no ghosting or bleedthrough on the pages with alcohol/permanent markers! Great investment if you do marker art.

I really put this through its paces, and I have to say, it does work as advertised. I didn't have any bleed through, and this is only the second sketchbook I've ever used where you can genuinely use alcohol ink markers on both sides of a sheet with zero bleed-through. The other brand I've used was really high end and expensive, so this was really surprising for me.The overall paper quality is good, especially because of its lack of bleed through. It's slightly thicker than some brand's marker paper, but not as thick as most multimedia paper you'll find in sketchbooks. The paper itself isn't a bright white, though, which is kind of weird. It may have something to do with the composition of whatever materials that prevent bleed. That's not a huge deal, but starting with a dingier white can have a big effect on a marker piece. In my photos, you can see a sheet of this paper on top of a sheet of illo brand to show the difference. The sketchbook binding is split into a lot of small signatures which makes it much easier to keep open on its own. It's not a 100% lay-flat style, but it's very close. The binding feels tight and secure. The PU cover has a soft-touch feel which is nice, though I did notice that it catches fingerprint marks a little easily. I ended up covering mine in vinyl stickers, and they're sticking really well. The listing also says you can decorate it with acrylic paint markers, though I haven't tried that yet.The size is great for individual sketch pages and for single finished works. I like that the pages are perforated so you can easily take out a finished piece if you plan to sell, display, or gift it. It has a built in bookmark ribbonThe pocket at the back of the book is nice and large. I think it's made of the same paper as the rest of the sketchbook, so it's not super thick, but it is handy.Overall, this is a surprisingly high quality marker sketchbook for this price point. The only reason I took off a star is because the paper isn't quite as bright and spotless as I prefer for marker artwork, but it really is perfect in almost every other way. Huge win for budget-conscious artists. Definitely buying some of these as gifts for my artist and writer friends.
