We have a UTV that had a stripped transmission drain plug. We ordered this in hope to an easier solution and more permanent solution to a heli coil. It couldn't have been easier to use. The drill bit, tap and other misc bits that were in the kit were high quality and very sharp. I would definitely recommend!

While expensive it includes all the parts necessary, minus 1/2" chuck power drill, to cleanly and permanently bring stripped threads back to the original thread size and pitch, in steel or aluminum pieces. Well worth the money spent!!!!

This worked really well for me. I have a 2006 Jeep Liberty Diesel and the oil pan and labor would have run well over $600. My buddy tapped it out and it worked great. It is expensive but high quality and worked well. I called the company for soe technical advice and they were very helpful. They recommended some grease on the bit and tap to collect the shavings and to reserve the oil in place in a clean container beforehand. Bore with greased bit, tap with greased tap (this collects the shavings). Then dump the reserved (old) oil in and allow it to drain (flushes remaining shavings). Then insert plug and fill with new oil. Great fit, quality and service. I went one step further and and ordered a Fumoto drain valve and it was great too. I am good to go and really happy. By all indications this is better than new (steel insert opposed to oil pan cast metal) and will last forever.
