Made from durable, high quality silicone, the Solemate will protect your TG-series iron (TG1600, TG1250, TG1100) from scratches, scuffing and other damage so it will perform smoothly for years to come. Use the loop on the nose end to hang your iron on a wall-mounted hook (not supplied) for quick and convenient storage. The Solemate fits securely to the soleplate of your TG series iron. Flexible tabs on the sides and back, and a nose pocket lock the Solemate to your iron for storage and transport. Remove the Solemate quickly by pushing down on the tabs to quickly and easily slide the Solemate off the iron. Ventilation holes in the Solemate allows air in and disperses heat out for quicker cool down times.

Not much to say about this simple product. It fit the bottom of the Oliso TG 1600 ProPlus iron quite well. It is a good protection for the iron's sole plate. It also slides easily into the Oliso Carry Bag for Full Sized Irons when attached to the sole plate. With the sole plate attached, it can hang the iron on a hook—either when attached to the iron alone or when inserted in the bag referenced above.

This "Oliso 'Solemate' Silicone Iron Soleplate Protector for TG Series Irons" is a must with my Oliso iron and carrying case for travel to quilting events.

This product is perfect for its intended purpose. When not in use, the iron is best kept out of the way by hanging it on a wall, which I do. However, the pad is not heat resistant. The iron must be completely cooled before hanging it. If it is still warm, the pad will not hold it and the iron will fall to the floor.

I though I could rest the iron on it while it was turned on but it's only for storage. I wanted something to rest the iron on while in use.

After 10 years, I bought a new Oliso, This time I picked up the protector which wasn't available years ago. Excellent. Fits well and now with the feature that you can hang the iron on the wall.

Love how fast it heats up and the 30 minutes shut off as I am a quilter I need to press every few minutes. I don't put water in irons so I cannot speak to any leaks. I will say that I accidently dropped my first one and within a week oliso sent me a brand new one, also a plus is the warranty. Also the up and down function is very cool and convenient.

I just can't understand why the other reviews say this Oliso TG solemate does not fit their iron! I waited with bated breath for delivery of it thinking i would have to return it. I opened it and fitted it straight onto the soleplate within seconds with no problem whatsoever as can be seen in the pictures at different angles. I can only imagine that they maybe trying to fit it over the bottom of the whole iron rather than just onto the metal soleplate for which it was intended. I decided to use mine with the legs of the iron extended to give it a bit more stability when hanging it up. I absolutely love it and wish i had purchased it sooner as having the strong loop at the top is a plus for me also. I would very highly recommend it if you care about your iron and you will not regret it. I hope this explains better about this excellent good quality silicone product and helps a little bit to get it right.
