Looks like a nice tool, but the thread does not match US standard. Could not use it to remove compression ring on shut off valve on ½ inch copper pipe. Misadvertised item. Wasted time waiting for the item when could purchase another tool that would actually work.

The olive puller is a good tool to have around when if you are replacing fittings on plumbing around the house. Recently I was installing a sink downstairs and changed out the decorative fittings and needed an olive puller to get the ferrules off the old fittings. Now, I am going around my house now replacing all my fittings with a 1/4 turn shutoff valve and this just comes in handy.

This tool looks fabulous when you get it. It's shiny brass and looks very well made. I've been needing to replace a shutoff on my toilet - so it went right to work. First off, it did not thread into my shutoff valve completely (the threads on the valve were not true 1/2 NPT apparently). It did bite into a few threads and that turned out to be enough. During the process of pulling the ferrule off, the copper pipe did slide up from the first step on the puller to the second, which enlarged the copper pipe a bit, but the puller was still able to keep the ferrule moving. It took a lot of force from an additional wrench, which in then end made a U out of the T bar on the handle. In then end, it moved the ferrule down enough to get it out of my way to cut the pipe leaving enough exposed to work with. So, it did it's job, but it wasn't easy nor perfect. This was a problem valve which is why I never had replaced it - so I threw what I'd consider the worst at it and it did OK. At least for me, in the end, I was able to complete my job.

First time using this tool and it works well. Pulled the collar off the pipe. Cleaned the pipe and installed the new shut off valve and wow. Done. Thanks.

I love that all the pieces for varying size pipes/tubes stay together on one tool. This tool is self-packaging. No bag of parts to keep up with. Perfect.
