This was bought for someone special who saw it on a cooking show and had to have. It is a salt celler. The wood is well polished. It has an adequate capacity for a counter top salt celler. It is made from beautiful olive wood.

This salt keeper is incredibly well-made. It even took a tumble, and while I sadly lost some my wonderful truffle salt, the container came through without a scratch.

Great value for the price. The natural wood grain is beautiful, the size is perfect. Magnetic lid is handy. I purchased the food-grade mineral oil as recommended to keep it from drying out over time. Love it!

Used to struggle with salt in a little jar - the crystals would get stuck in the lid and end up on the stove or counter - a mess each time. Now, with this lovely salt container, the lid can be swung open with the same hand that is holding the container and the other hand used to pinch and sprinkle the salt. This is a sturdy and beautiful container. Soon, I'll get another one for my other type of salt! I think also it would make a lovely gift.

This salt box is absolutely beautiful. The lid slides smoothly. It keeps out moisture. Wood looks high quality. I love being able to grab a pinch while cooking. I love that I can use coarse or fine salt vs my salt mill which takes only coarse. This looks so classy sitting out next to my pepper mill. I’m so glad I finally bought this! Also, would make a beautiful gift.Only 2 draw backs-Little flaws in the wood around the hinge, like they didn’t drill the hole carefully enough. However, it’s barely noticeable and doesn’t bother me so kept it anyways.Secondly, I think it could bother some cooks that you have to grab this with your fingers. Hands get messy while cooking and you have to grab salt with clean hands so as not to contaminate the rest. Again, this doesn’t bother me, but it’s worth considering before purchasing this.

When I received this item, there was a chip in the wood in the back by the swivel attachment. There was a crack down the wood below it as well. I assume that this happened during the shipping process? Too much of a hassle to return so I kept it. It is definitely beautiful and easy to use.
