Don’t be discouraged by how far the copper sleeve sticks out. Screw the black nut in the hole all the way until it’s seated flush and then very carefully and slowly close the door. The sleeve will push in to its proper position and depth. Fit my 2001 XJ perfectly!

I Bought this for my 1998 Jeep Cherokee. The driver’s door switch wore out. This was a perfect replacement and did the job! Now my dome lights come on when I open the driver’s door!An important note is that this switch doesn’t look exactly like the current switch when you remove your old one. You’ll install this new one, then gently close the door a few times to “seat” the switch. After seating the switch you’ll be ready for normal opening and closing of the door.

Incorrect part for a Jeep Cherokee (XJ). It sticks out too far from the door jamb and will not allow you to close your door.
