I was very reluctant to replace my original dash pad, however over the years like most were rusted out on the back had already repaired a tab or two and regrettably I could not repair any longer. I was concerned, reading others reviews on some of these replacements however I was pleasantly surprised when I unpackaged it and it looks fairly similar, and it also has a good feel, unlike a hard plastic, it looks good in the CJ! The only thing it did not have the pre-drilled holes on the front side, and I chose not to drill them. I just secured using the windshield tabs and it stays secure.

This is potentially a great part and a great value. But there is a big “if”. The packaging is merely flimsy cardboard with no padding. All it takes is a good drop on the end and the outer ears get bent. The pad I received was bent badly on the drivers side, with no real evidence of damage on the outer box. I would suggest the manufacturer add some styrofoam cushion on both ends. Also, Amazon should probably ship this in an outer box with additional cushioning. Amazon issued a refund promptly-thank you!

I've had this about a month and so far i am pleased with the looks and quality of the unit. All the factory holes lined up and the jeep embossing looks genuine. I with they came in more colors, but black always seems to be in style!

I HAD BEEN LOOKING AT THESE FOR A WHILE NOW FOR MY 77 CJ7. SO I FINALLY TOOK THE PLUNGE AND GLAD I DID. THIS DASH MOUNTS IN THE JAMB OF THE WINDSHIELD. MEANING I HAD TO LOOSEN AND LEAN THE WINDSHIELD FORWARD TO MOUNT THE DASH. PRETTY SIMPLE AND STRAIGHT FORWARD. IT MOUNTS TIGHT AND THERE IS NO VIBRATION. IT'S HEAVIER THAN I IMAGINED BUT IT IS STURDY. LOOKS SHARP AND I AM GLAD I FINALLY PURCHASED AND SO WILL YOU.
