You know when you're invited to a covered dish supper or a party and you want to take some food but you're hesitant to mess with a serving bowl? You know how those serving bowls or platters can be really messy coming home in the car? The covers never get put back with the dish so you end up with an uncovered tray or plate and it leaves crumbs all over the floor or seat. It's not pretty.Well, that's why I started using cake boards. They are especially handy for those covered dish moments. And especially the 12" round variety. I place the brownies, cookies, or whatever on the round, then cover them with foil or plastic wrap, and they are ready to go. No messy bowl or tray to bring home, nothing to spill coming home, just throw the cardboard away and come home like a normal person.I love these! You just have to get some!

These ONE MORE 12 inch white cake rounds are nicely made boards to use for cake display. The top is a glossy finish, the bottom a matte finish, so one could choose the look desired. The board is made of corrugated cardboard, see the edge shot, and appears to be reasonable strong.Since the listing says that the board "is made with an MDF core, rather than corrugated cardboard," and the core is corrugated cardboard, I am reducing the rating by one star.

These cake boards are great for smaller cakes. They're pretty sturdy, but you could double them up if you have something heavy on it.We also have used a couple of these for crafts--they make great cookies (I made one into the if you give a mouse a cookie cookie), wheels if you take a cardboard box and make it into a car, suns, and much more. These have been pretty versitile for us, since they've been used for both food and crafting.

As a baker, I can tell you that when you’re putting a 12” cake on a board, you’re often stacking cakes on top of it. This leads to a very heavy cake (most people don’t realize how VERY heavy whole cakes are when they’re stacked multiple tiers high). At the base should be a strong and sturdy board; this is not it.While this board is greaseproof, which for baking I think is necessary, that is about the only thing going for it. It’s not nearly as sturdy as a thicker board, and it doesn’t offer a punch-out hole in the center for easier stacking: 2 major features I always look for in a cake board. I would have to use 2 or 3 of these at a time for large cakes. If I use these boards under smaller portions of tiered cakes, I’ll have to cut them and then find the center to run supports through. Either way, I would not get these again.If you’re looking for a 12” disposable DISPLAY cake board, however, these may be just what you’re looking for.

These are just what you need if you want a 12-inch sturdy, white, disposable cardboard cake board that is large enough to accommodate round cakes up to 11 inches in diameter. They arrive packed tightly together in plastic wrap, and they were all in pristine condition upon arrival. They work well for protecting cake keepers or plates when cutting cake or creating sturdy tiers on cakes.
