Yes, Cisco recognized them, but one of them has failed within a week or two of operation. Not sure what was the reason but it couldn't be recognized by any switch anymore. Maybe just a firmware corruption. I returned and decided to go with another brand.

This pair of SFP simplex fiber transceivers works fine. I was able to hook them up to my Microtik 10 GB SFP+ switch to a Lynxcel 5-Port Industrial PoE Gigabit switch with 1 SFP port. I aim to use these transceivers to extend my network through an attic space to add additional security cameras to my home. I picked up these transceivers out of curiosity. My home is well-wired with RJ45 copper. I also have some fiber I have added using 10G transceivers and LC to LC fiber duplex connections. This is the first time I have tried a simplex connection. I also have some SC Connectors. Trying different transceivers with different connection types was mostly for my education on the various types.I was curious why this transceiver set ships with one being blue and the other yellow and if this made a difference on the hookup. It does not. As far as I can tell there is no difference in the set of transceivers. I swapped them around between the switches with no problems.

When you have a big property and just want to have good fast network speeds over a very long distance then these it what you need to get. I have a barn that is a good half mile away and I have tried a wireless solution at first but the speed was so slow I con't even load a cat video. Now that I have upgraded to fiber between my main house and the barn, I now have full one gigabit speeds and the cable that I got had two LC connections on it, but I only really needed the one and the other one is backup if something should happen to the fiber in the ground. The SPF transceivers worked perfectly on my Cisco switch at both ends and no configuration was needed. truly a plug-in-play solution for my networking needs.

The GBICs work as intended but I kept loosing connectivity at least every other day, and I don't know if it was the Microtik switches or not. Speed went down from 930Gbps to less than 100Mbps and every time had to reboot the switches to fix it. Ended up returning the GBICs and Microtik switches and installing a long run of ethernet cable.
