This flatware is pretty, but the forks were weirdly enormous. I returned them.

Oneida is a name that has long been associated with flatware. We had a set when I was growing up and it lasted for a few decades before my mom replaced it. I figured this would be a nice set to replace ours. I ordered the "Metallic" set since the gold and black set are most likely the same stainless steel but colored.The finish is nice and shiny and looks like highly polished vs having a metallic coating. They look like they will stand the test of time. We used them for dinner tonight and they are comfortable in the hand. They weigh less than my last set but are still well balanced.The issue for me is the price. At $59.99 (the price at the time of this review), it is on the higher end of the price range for a service for 4, especially when there are other Oneida sets, as well as other name brands of similar quality, priced almost 30% cheaper.Over all, this is a solid, well made set. It feels nice in the hand and is well balanced. If they do end up lasting as long as my mom's set growing up, I think it will end up paying for itself though.
