First off let me say how easy to use/convenient this lock is (especially for the price point). Now for the craziest part: I had it locking a bike (which I didn’t need as I had a scooter) for 9 months, completely exposed to the elements. I came back to it last week (mind you it was in a sketchy area) and it not only was still there, but so was my bike! (Albeit with flat tires).The wildest part is that it worked just the same as when I had left it there. My bike had gotten some rust formation while the U lock looked the same as when I had left it! I am now using it as my daily u lock and am having zero problems with it.If you have any doubts about buying this lock, don’t! It’ll likely last you a lifetime and will protect whatever you lock with it. I bought it for $13.99 a little over a year ago and it’s worth every penny and then some!

This lock is produced by a reputable manufacturer, seems very strong for the size and very price efficient. Problem is it's simple to short to attach to the rear wheel, triangle and pole. If where you live doesnt require high security this lock has a lot of promise. If in a major city go with something with a longer shackle.

Solid U lock. Doesnt fit easily in the frame mount; requires so much tension to put in that it moves the mount around. Now once it's in there it's solid, but... I have another way of carrying it, so it doesnt really affect me, but it's something to watch out for. The key is really light and kind of dinky feeling, and also gets retained by the lock while the lock is open.For the money, an excellent value. Most other Ulocks at this pricepoint are absolute garbage, which makes this one's decency impressive.the metal inside the shackle is 11mm across, the metal+sheathing is 14mm. not the beefiest youll find, but not too shabby, and based on youtube Ive seen of people attacking other OnGuards woth boltcutters, they know how to harden their shackles properly. I'd like to believe that these would stand up to bolt cutters.shackle internal dimensions: 146mm (widest point) x 90mm. the radius at the end is 45mm, so that's a 101x90mm rectangle with a semicircle stuck on the end.weighs 585g.

I searched everywhere for a review and/or OnGuard's description of this U lock. I came up empty. I then ended up calling OnGuard's customer service number listed on their website, as well as emailing them. The OnGuard rep indicated that the Neon locks aren't listed on their website as they are intended for overseas (non-US) sales. This seems odd as the lock's packaging is exclusively in English. The rep confirmed that is has a security rating of 63 (this wasn't printed on the packaging), which along with it's dimensions, matches the OnGuard Bulldog Mini 8013. It also has the double locking shackle. I prefer the all black color scheme, which along with a lower price point, worked for me. I paid $15.39 each delivered through Amazon! I only need this light weight lock for city travel with quick stops. I have heavier duty locks, like my Abus Granit, for more sketchy areas or longer time frames. NOTE: I apologize for the somewhat blurry pictures. I just wanted to get a quick review up for other bikers.
