The LED Digital Hotplate Magnetic Stirrer by ONiLAB, is a well-built option, with an easy to read screen and effective operation. Here are some of the things I’ve learned while owning it and things to consider before buying.I. Quality – The overall built construction and quality are very good, offering a heavy/solid feel. The knobs, power cord and stand are all heavy duty quality that should last a long time. I’d put this one in the lower side of the upper tier of the quality scale for hotplate stirrer’s, because of the heavy duty aspects to it.II. Performance – It works great for my needs with precise dials and a responsive stirrer. The knobs have good feedback and a very smooth turn to dial in your speed and temp. The stand is solid, screws in secure and is very usable. The heat is quick and also responsive to the dial. The LED digital readout in wonderful to have to improve my precision and ease of use.Overall, this has been a great replacement for my older hotplate stirrer at home, that’s well-built and functions exceptionally nice for my needs. I’ll be sure to update this review, if I ever start to have problems with it.You can trust that this review is simply my honest opinion that is attempting to provide you with helpful insight that I wish I had before I picked this product. Hopefully it was helpful in your decision.

The magnetic stirrer with heating includes almost everything except the vessel. I got the main unit, the user manual, a 6 foot long black and grounded power cord, a 6.3 amp replacement fuse, a white stirring bar, an external temperature probe sensor, and a stand set.The lowest speed is 200 rpm, even though the manual instructs to start at 50 rpm. The highest is 1500 rpm. As I use the heating function for temperatures ranging between 35 and 50 degrees Celsius, I am not absolutely sure what the maximum temperature is. On Amazon, I read it’s up to 120 degrees Celsius.The main unit measures about 7 inches wide, 10 5/8 inches deep, and the plate’s height is roughly 4 1/4 inches. The stand is about 17 inches tall and extends to 19 inches when mounted. The plate is about 5 1/4 inches wide.It has two control knobs - one for temperature, the other for rotation. I can set the temperature and rotation speed before I turn on the heating and stirring. To begin heating and stirring, I press the respective knob once. It makes barely any sound.I use it mainly for making my DIY glycerin emulsion. With speeds up to 1500 rpm and gentle heat, I get a homogeneous liquid quickly.

I was very impressed by this heater/stirrer. I have used various methods to heat solutions and components in lab environments, but I like thermal surfaces the most. No flame or gas to worry about and I am always for less things to keep track of if I don’t need to.One thing I have never had the opportunity to try until now is automatic stirring. I really appreciate any reduction of manual, glass rod stirring that I can get. This ability is absolutely essential for procedures that require constant agitation to prevent settling and/or stratification. So, the acquisition of this particular device opens up a several new experiments for me.Besides the unit itself, the kit came with all the components for the armature, temperature probe, power cable, mixing pellet, spare fuse, user manual, packing list, and cert by ONiLAB. Everything was relatively easy and straightforward to setup. From assembly of the temperature probe arm to the operation, it was all very intuitive.Operation is also super simple. There is a rocker style power switch in the back and two dials on the front for operation of the heater and stirrer separately. A push of each activates that function and turning controls the temperature and speed respectively.The heater is very gradual, which I really appreciate. Another nice feature is the “HOT” indicator that remains illuminated on the display after the power is turned off to remind me of the hazard (So there goes my “Burned by a hot plate” de-merit badge!)The magnetic stirring speed is surprisingly precise. I was able to dial in exactly as much or as little as needed. The highest speed was quite impressively fast and the lowest was barely even perceptible.The probe seems to provide an accurate temperature measurement and keeps the solution limited to where it is set. Normally, the heater display shows the set temp briefly when changed, then returns to just displaying the current temp. The thing that I was not entirely thrilled about is that when the current temp is within 5 degrees of the set temp, the display showed only the set temp, but it could be user error.All-in-all, this device is perfect for an amateur like me and I would wholeheartedly recommend it.

My husband has recently got into different lab stuff and lab equipment like this. He does some here and there and dabbles in it so he was pretty familiar with these so I decided to get him this! It came very well packed and secured and everything was perfectly as described in the ad. There was nothing damage or missing from delivery and all the instructions were clear and easy to read and very helpful for getting everything set up. This fit perfectly in the space we had for it because it matched up perfectly with the measurements. The heat level gets really good and the speed at which it heats up is very impressive. Definitely functions as they intended and stirs perfectly. My husband has not run into a single issue this far and so far is very impressed with the quality of the craftsmanship. Very heavy duty and very well made. Definitely does not feel cheaper easily breakable at all. Super impressed with everything and think it's worth every penny for sure. This is just as nice as some of the name brand ones they have on the market hands down. Definitely a 10 out of 10
