"I bought this mini heater as a Christmas gift, and initially, it seemed like a good purchase. It provided decent warmth for the first 40 days of use. However, shortly after, I noticed a significant decline in its heating performance. Then, a concerning burning smell started emanating from the unit after about 40 minutes of operation. To make matters worse, the power switch completely seized, rendering the heater unusable. Unfortunately, this all happened just 10 days outside the 30-day return window. I'm extremely disappointed with the short lifespan and the safety concerns this heater presented. Do not waste your money on this product."

I've been using a HANDY HEATER for years to boost the temp in my little office. It worked fine until this past winter when it developed a strained intermittent loud low pitched groan. Not one to take a chance on electrical devices that might result in fire hazard, I elected to purchase another HANDY HEATER just like the one I had (400 WATT Intertek 3144147). I researched AMAZON's website and found two similar units; one advertised as 350 WATTS, another a 400 WATT unit at $2 more. Since my original unit was 400 watts and had functioned well, I elected to purchase one 400 watt replacement -AND- as a standby, try a second (less expensive) 350 WATT model (since it is difficult to find low wattage heaters that won't overload my office circuit). Strangely, upon delivery to my home, it appeared the shipping bag contained TWO OF THE SAME UNITS. Hhmmm, perhaps a shipping error or an advertising/description error, I surmised.Prior to purchase, I was aware that unlike the FLUSH plug of my original unit, both new units would have the a noticeable PROTRUDING 3 prong electrical plug -and- A NICE BONUS... remote controls. Despite misshapen boxes from being transported in a bag, closer inspection confirmed that both heating units were IDENTICAL; labeled as MODEL: HEAT-MC4 (INTERTEK 5005540) with a prominent 350 WATTS displayed on both boxes. I was perplexed. When unboxed, I noted that neither of the new models had a HANDY HEATER label affixed to them that should indicate model, electrical parameters, manufacturer, etc. (product name, pertinent specs and manufacturer should always be indicated on products). Both DID INDEED have a protruding 3 prong plug that rotates as well as remote control as advertised. Once plugged in and operating, I noticed that the MAX temp of the new units default to only 80 degrees (as opposed to 90 degrees on my old unit), but this was of little consequence since I always set my old heater at 78 degrees. Upon further inquisition, I discovered that the unit would actually advance to a MAX temp of 94 when either the remote control or integrated buttons were manually adjusted. In addition to digital temp control buttons, it also featured a HIGH/LOW fan setting, and an adjustable 12 hour timer. Both units seemed to generate heat, albeit noticeably LESS than my old HANDY HEATER. To feel any REAL warmth, I had to be within 2 feet of the unit. BUMMER! So yes, I can believe these heaters function at 350WATTS (as indicated on box), Unfortunately, it was not enough to make a noticeable difference in temp inside my 10' x 12' office. So, in my particular case, why pay $2 more for the very SAME PRODUCT, same wattage, same model that doesn't even warm ME or the room I'm in? Unfortunately, I did not see a contact for the AMAZON vendor from whom I purchased, and thus, could not inquire with regard to differences in pricing and/or their having possibly shipped the wrong product. Thus, my current plan is to REORDER another 400 WATT HANDY HEATER to assess: 1) if it is even available AND 2) to evaluate if a 400WATT unit offers increased function. If it's not substantially better at heating, I will likely return ONE - both - or maybe even ALL for a refund.I must reiterate that these heaters ARE designed to be LOW WATTAGE UNITS for persons like myself that don't want to overload a circuit, so take heed. Overall, I feel the product and features provided are nice for the price point, but considering the underwhelming heat output (as compared to my previous HANDY HEATER unit) - and the absence of any identifying HANDY HEATER labels on the product itself, I wonder if these could possibly be "knock-offs". Unfortunately, my old bones need a little more warmth than these can provide. So, BUYER BEWARE. To me, these 350 WATT HEATERS are disappointingly WEAK. (PLUS, BE ADVISED... while pursuing return of this item, I was issued a LITHIUM ION BATTERY WARNING LABEL with instructions to affix it to the exterior of the return shipping box - HUH? - A Lithium Ion Battery in a heater?).

I’ve tried 6 different handy heaters and once I found this one, the hunt for more, continues. All of the others, shut off automatically after 12 hours, and this one will stay on 24/7 if desired. It also has a timer if you so desire. It heats a medium sized room and is energy efficient.I highly recommend it.Note: the others don’t come with the remote (which I never use) but that’s how to decide which one to purchase.

I wrote a review on one of the heaters I bought (I bought 2) one had 180 degree plug in one did not if ordering one get one that does have 180 degree plug in. As far as heating a room. If small closed room or a small area ,like a cove, it may heat it some mine is at a wall 3 feet from me was warmer with but by much. I think I'll use one in small bathroom.

Bought this to use in a small 7 x 6 bathroom. Does not work at all. Have left in on for an hour with the door closed and room does not warm up at all.
