I got this paper to take on a vacation with my 4 year old granddaughter. I had bought some paintsto entetain her but didn't want them soaking thru the paper and making a mess. This worked perfectly and made her very happy.

This sketch pad’s paper is very thick and works well with the OOLY paint sticks. We’ve also used it with washable paint and markers, as well as glitter glue and it has worked really well.

(Note: I received this product for free in consideration of a review. It is, nonetheless, my honest unbiased review.) I have a caution to offer the buyer here. The description says "Sketchbook Pad." On the front cover, it says simply "Sketchbook." This is not a sketchbook, It's a pad. To me a sketchbook is bound on the side relative to the labeling on the cover, and has a more permanent binding, not one where the pages can be torn out. This is a pad of paper. It's a pad of very nice paper, and there is perforation where you can tear out the pages or, you can pull them out neatly along the wax binding at the top, but it's not a sketchbook. That said, it totally met my son's needs as he frequently does prefer to pull out paper to work on a sketch, or to share pages with friends. It's nice quality paper and holds up to marker drawings. He hasn't used one for watercolors yet, so I can't speak to whether it would hold up to that (removed from the pad, of course.) But if you're looking for what I think of as a sketchbook, which will reliably keep your work in one place, this is not it!
