About this item

  • The Auto Focus Macro Extension Tube 25mm designed to enable a lens to focus closer than its normal set minimum focusing distance.Getting closer has the effect of magnifying your subject (making it appear larger in the viewfinder and in your pictures)
  • It is exceptionally useful for macro photography, enabling you to convert almost any lens into a macro lens at a fraction of the cost while maintaining its original optical quality
  • The extension tube have no optics. It's mounted in between the camera body and lens to create more distance between the lens and film plane.By moving the lens father away from the film or CCD sensor in the camera, the lens is forced to focus much closer than normal
  • The greater the length of the extension tube, the closer the lens can focus. With its electronic contacts, it can support automatic focusing and automatic exposure
  • Suitable for Canon 1D, 1D C, 1D Mark II, 1D Mark II N, 1D Mark III, 1D Mark IV, 1D X, 1D X Mark II, 1D X Mark III, 1Ds, 1Ds Mark II, 1Ds Mark III, 200D, 20D, 30D, 350D, 4000D, 400D, 40D, 450D, 500D, 50D, 550D, 5D, 5D Mark II, 5D Mark III, 5D Mark IV, 5Ds, 5Ds R, 600D, 60D, 650D, 6D, 6D Mark II, 77D, 7D, 7D Mark II, 800D, 80D, 90D, SL1, SL2, SL3, T1i, T2i, T3, T3i, T4i, T5, T5i, T6, T6i, T6s, T7, T7i

Exactly what I needed. I don't have a manual aperture lens, so having the electronics is extremely important to me. The auto focus part of the tube does its job just fine, any fault there lies with the lenses themselves. It's a little bit snug, but that's to be expected to insure that no light leaks in.This tube is well built and would absolutely recommend using it if you want to start out in macro photography but can't afford high-end lenses.

Mates perfectly with EOS Rebel body. Mates and operates perfectly with EF lens. Way too tight to use with EF-S lenses. Useless for them.

The piece I got did not fit on EF Lenses at all. Or I should say the fit was so tight that I was afraid to damage my expensive EF Lenses. I have EF 40 mm STM Pancake and EF 75-300 telephoto.Luckily it fit quite well on my EF-S 18-55 IS and worked like a charm. Beautiful clarity and sharpness and huge magnification. I picture of a penny filled the whole LCD Screen. On 18-55 EF-S I had to be at length > 25 mm to get clear focus. 55 mm worked out the best. That is why it give this cheap plastic 3 stars otherwise it would have been 0 stars.

It works perfect on my Canon 40D with a 70-300 in macro setting (fully extended). The fit is very precise, all the mountings are metal with the body being plastic. All the functions of the lens work and there is nothing to complain about.

I have a Tamron 90mm F2.8 macro lens and a Canon 2x teleconverter. I want to go beyond 1:1 with the teleconverter but the lenses won't fit. I need one extension tube to connect the two lenses. This thing serves the purpose well. The build quality is decent and it works as intended. The autofocus works, though for macro photography autofocus is almost never used. But the extension tube does pass aperture, focal length, etc. information to the camera, which is good. And i can adjust aperture with the camera control. I also tested the tube with a few of my other lenses, including Canon 50mm F1.8 and Sigma 50mm F1.4. The tube works well. The images are all sharp, including those with the 2x teleconverter. It is light-weight. If you do not want to carry an extra macro lens, this thing help you get macro shots with a standard lens. Of course it won't be 1:1. So if you need 1:1 magnification, a dedicated macro lens is the way to go.For $30 I won't complain anything.

I received this extension tube today, a day earlier than expected. I put it on my Canon 5D Mark ll with the Tamron 28-75 macro lens. Before I put this on, I was not able to get as close as I wanted on some subjects. However with this, I actually have to back up as it was touching the filter on the lens. When I put on my ring light I had to back up even more. I am please with this purchase as it will now allow me to get way closer than I expected. I also have a few other macro lenses that I have not tried it on but if it has the same effect I will be madly in love with the product. I also have a Canon 30D which is not a full frame camera and I expect it will be a super close photograph when used with the combination of the crop factor of 1.6, macro and the extension tube. Wow am I ever please.

Great product for a great price. I use it on my 18-135 lens, and get to take really nice Macro pictures on about 1" distance of the lens. For that I do have to extend my lens to the maximum and focus manually. Autofocus will not catch it. This might be because of the lens I use... So for me the autofocus part was not necessary. It is nice as it enables more options in the camera when connected, but I am unsure if all correct information is fed-back as the lens is not in it's normal position.Mounting works great; Everything together I would have never expected this quality for this price.

Opteka makes some good products but this isn't one of them. This was such a tight fit on the lens connection (body connection fit fine) that I was afraid it damage my 50mm lens and wasn't going to risk even trying my L lenses. I just replaced this with the Canon 25 macro tube (6/7 edit: Canon works great, fits on all my lenses 16-35mm, 50mm, 24-70mm). I wish this would have worked and I could have saved ~$100 but it's not worth damaging my lenses.6-7-13 - Canon body was 5dMK2 (and I could get extension tube on but it wasn't a great fit) and 50mm 1.4 (too much force required to fit)
