Bought a 10 pack of these 50 GB discs and burned four discs so far. Results: 2 successful burns and 2 coasters. That's a 50% failure rate These discs are not reliable enough for burning. I've burned many other brands on the same computer and burner without any incident. Also, the brand claims to have a so called "Glossy" finish. Don't be fooled, it is a shiny textured finished that is nowhere near a smooth glossy finish. The only brand to trust with a true "Glossy Smooth" finish are the Plexdisc Liquid Defense Plus Waterproof brand. There is nothing else like it on the market. The inkjet produced photo on that glossy surface is nothing short of spectacular. Rumor has it that Optical Quantum is the same Mfr that produces the Plexdisc brand and if true, it irks me to know the same company has two brands on the opposite side of the pole of success. There is one thing to also note. The Optical Quantum and JVC Tayo Yuden brands have stacking rings on the surface of the disc. These rings marks each disc below in the stack and leaves a circular mark near the center hub that shows up as a halo on the disc surface after you print on the disc. The Plexdisc brand does not have this issue. The only drawback on the Plexdisc brand is the cost. Hopefully one day soon, the cost can be lowered below the $25 range for 10 discs. I sincerely believe they will out sell every other brand on the market period.

Tried a few already, and they seem to work fine. Using an LG drive under WinXP.

This is not a glossy finish as stated in specs & is the reason for a 3 star rating. The discs lack the label picture quality pop of a true gloss surface. For a positive the 50gb discs appear to record well & have produced no coasters.Update; Up to this ( 4/22/2013 ) day every disc has produced excellent 1080i/p picture quality. The labels do text upon the white background for satisfactory presentation. Finally, I am waiting to comment about the longevity of recorded content. To this point all appears well.I guess you realize I am very disappointed by the lack of a high quality glossy surface. No manufacturer has produced a BD-R DL Glossy Surface yet.
