The description for this mute mentions viola - indicating that it can be used on a viola, and there is even a photograph of it on a (small?) violin bridge. However, it is much too large to use effectively on a viola. The gap for the bridge is much greater than the thickness of a viola bridge, so even though it will fit on a viola, it does not do any muting on the viola. On the other hand, it seems to be well made, and the orange color gives it high visibility.
