I bought two of these in late December and both worked well, but by late April both have stopped functioning. To say they had seen limited use would be a huge understatement. I probably used each of them maybe five times. Drives both run fine in a different enclosure. Rather disappointing.

Very easy to install the drive. Everything works as expected. Using this with a Mac Mini to add more storage. Used a drive from an old laptop where we stored our movies, now we can watch them again. Blue LED clearly indicates power and activity.

I really like this case. I bout 4 of them. It wouldn't be my fist choice for rotating disk because I'm very hard on drives. No flex but no cushioning . They go in luggage and are tossed around. ASPM so large block size SSD will fly. Not much slower than SATA

Discarded an old laptop and bought this HDD cover to convert the old HDD to external HDD. The cover fits perfectly, no movement of HDD inside which keeps it safe. The USB 3.0 cable provided with the cover transfers data with reasonable speed. The corners are rounded and it feels much more sleek and good quality than the older covers I have used. In a glance it feels like an external HDD and not a cover.

This was a very inexpensive HD enclosure and as soon as I popped in the SATA drive, I was downloading some of my music and videos onto it so that I can take videos with me while camping - plug it into the little projector I have and before going to sleep, pick and watch a movie that's loaded on the drive. This enclosure was needed to make the HD work and it is working perfectly inside this housing. Great price for what I needed.

UPDATE: after leaving a one star review due to the unit failing after a few months, Orico's customer service reached out to me to offer a replacement.Unfortunately I already ordered a different one, and didn't want to take a chance on the enclosure dying in a few months. They then offered a refund which I agreed to, but they also requested I increase my review from 1 star to 4 or 5, so here we are.Original review:The unit was working perfectly until my DVR, which I rarely use, informed me the drive was not working and needed to be removed.I grab it to connect to a computer and the unit is extremely warm, but won't connect to any PC.Plugged in an older SATA to USB 3 enclosure, and even with the same cable it's recognized instantly.Cannot recommend this unit, especially if it's going to be powered 24/7
