There are several variations of this. I thought that this was one of the RAID versions. It isn't. It's just a JBOD. So this is essentially a way to add multiple disks to your system via USB. I don't recommend using software RAID for them, or you won't be able to move them between systems.

I've got it up and running, with the help of 'GParted' to format 2 of the drives. The speed will depend on the drives you use but this varies between 170 and 200 MB/s for HDDs. As with ORICO products, the build quality is excellent and the only comment I would make is that the length at 26cm makes it rather bulky. The fan is very quiet. Recommended.

Though product is advertised as "ORICO 4 Bay Hard Drive Enclosure USB 3.0 for SATA2.5/3.5 inch SSDs HDDs Max up to 88TB...", it does not support 2.5 inch SSD/HDD.Will have to return it unless I figure out how to make it work with 2.5.As well, it disconnect hard drives from computer after every few minutes. Enclosure has to be switched of and on before the drives are detected again.
