If you ride a Trek Emonda or Madone, you know the BB90 struggle—either it creaks like an old door or wears out too fast. I’ve been using Token BBs for years. They were quiet and smooth, but lasted only 1.5 years before rusting or failing. Still, they worked—until Token’s customer service disappeared. Three weeks, multiple messages, zero response. So, I switched to the Origin9 Revolvr Thread-Together BB. Installation? A breeze. Performance? Silent and smooth. Durability? Feels more solid with fully aluminum cups and tighter seals, hopefully lasting longer than Token. If you’re tired of BB90 headaches and ghosted emails, Origin9 is a solid upgrade. Quiet, reliable, and built to last.⭐ Rating: 5/5 – Because bottom brackets should be forgotten, not frustrating.will update it after this season!

Sometimes you get less than what you pay for. Second replacement of this BB90 token/origin8 shell in a year. The bearings are too small, poor quality and impossible to find.

Do not recommend. I only got 6 months of cycling and there is side-to-side play in the bearing races. They also creak. The bearings are not service removeable (you would need a bearing press and custominsert tooling) so I need to replace the entire assembly. Go with a more expensive bottom bracket or go with Shimano OEM(real cheap, but expect to change out more frequently). Origin is expensive and does not provide the durability of it's competitors...

I acquired a new old stock Trek Emonda SLR and installed this from day one. I bought the Origin8 special tool. Installation was easy. Use lots of grease and a 1/2" drive torque wrench (or use an adapter). After a few hundred miles I re-torqued it just to be safe. I have not had any issues or noise with my SRAM Red GXP crankset. I have 2,500 miles and 250,000 feet of climbing so far on my Emonda.

2015 Trek Emonda SLR 9, after 2 sets of oem bearings I tried the origin8 bearings, Wow!!! Very easy to install, and yes you do need there specialty tool, make sure you get the right one. They are much easier to install than the oem bearings. I now have over 1000 miles and have not had one problem. Bottom line they are much better than original bearings. Oh, and I see Trek has finally decided to go away from pressed in bearings, sure took them long enough.

Easy to install once I had the right tools together. That took a little research. I’d had my Domane in the shop three times but the Trek mechanics blew it off. YouTube to the rescue, I quickly figured it out and fixed it myself. A thousand miles later my bottom bracket is still creak-free and smooth as silk.

I have two Trek Madone's with BB90 bottom brackets. I've probably replaced bearings 20 times (I've had one bike for 12 years, the 2nd for 7). So at least once per year one each bike, probably more. All sorts of noise (clicks and creaks) and it's just a royal PITA to change them out.In desperation, I decided to try the Origin9 thread together setup. I believe that these are made by Token Products and resold by Origin9. The parts are markings from both companies.Install is pretty slick. You absolutely need the special tool. I had to use a bit more torque than specified since one side wouldn't seat. But it only took a little more torque and the whole process of pulling the two ends together was very smooth. If you know how to remove the old bearings, putting these in will be the easy part.I did the first test ride today. 40 miles on the road, ~18 MPH average. No problems. The bottom bracket is very free turning and there's no way anything is going to move around. So, I just ordered two more. One for the other Madone and one for a spare. They say the bearings are serviceable (probably by pulling off the exposed side dust caps and cleaning/greasing in place), but I haven't seen anything about "replaceable" or "removable." Even if I need to replace these when the bearings go, they will be much better than the bearing problems that have plagued me for years.Update on 3/23/2022- I now have 5 months on one bike with this BB (~2K miles) and it's still like butter. Went thru a pretty big rain ride a couple weeks back too. So, I think the seals are better than the original BB90 as well as better/smoother.I just swapped in one of these for my other bike.
