As others have said - this skirt can be dressed up or down.I purchased for mostly around the house wear, as I find skirts more comfortable than shorts.The size guide is pretty spot-on. I order one size up than what it suggested, as I usually do with this type purchase. It fit a bit bigger than it needed to be - which is fine. I’d rather they feel a hair too big than a hair too small. It doesn’t LOOK too large.I ordered two pair - neither in white. Based on the fabric thickness, I don’t think there’d be a lot of flash-through.I find the skirt line flattering, but that’s really going to be based more on your body type or personal preferences.The shortest part of the skirt (front) hits me a hair past mid-thigh.Just keep in mind… if you intend to actually USE your pockets, you’ll be going under the skirt to get to them. If you’re out and about in public? - that may bother some, even knowing that you’re actually wearing shorts with an over-skirt, the “public” doesn’t know that….
